I went all the way to Humble, Texas to watch these two highly ranked schools play an amazing game. The Atascocita Eagles (6-1) played against The Summer Creek Bulldogs (4-2) at Turner Stadium. Both teams were stacked very competitive and equal game. The game even went into overtime I never saw a high school football game go into overtime ever. The game ended with The Atascocita Eagles being victorious with a score of 30-24. The Summer Creek Bulldogs put up a valiant fight against The Atascocita Eagles. They just unfortunately came up short against the highly ranked Atascocita Eagles. The Summer Creek Bulldogs still had a lot of weapons and threats on both sides of the ball.
#78 Kelvin Banks Kelvin Banks 6'5" | 285 lbs | OL Humble Summer Creek | 2022 State TX OT Sr 6’5 300 lbs
Summer Creek Bulldogs Kelvin Banks Kelvin Banks 6'5" | 285 lbs | OL Humble Summer Creek | 2022 State TX is a BIG MAN. I heard a lot about Kelvin before I attended this game. Watching Kelvin as a offensive tackle in person was a spectacle. Not only is Kelvin just a big man he also has power, quickness and amazing footwork as well. The Atascocita Eagles had a strong defensive line, but Kelvin is a dominating force no one could get pass him. Kelvin is a top college prospect having tons of offers from big names schools like; UT Austin, LSU, U of H, Texas A&M, Ole Miss University, and many others. Although, with all of those offers Kelvin decided to commit to University of Oregon for this upcoming Fall.
#8 Darius Rainey WR Sr
I will say this wide receiver technically only caught one pass, but that doesn’t measure Darius Rainey as a receiver. Darius is a very fast receiver he has great takeoff and has quite the mittens. On Paper it only shows Darius made one catch for 10 yards, however Darius made another catch out of bounds. Although, it didn’t count the way Darius catch it putting everything on the line was unbelievable. Darius did a backflip to make this catch and if it was a better pass in bounds this catch could of changed the whole game.
#25 Lloyd Avant RB So 5’10 190 lbs
Lloyd Avant is a dedicated and passionate running back. Lloyd speed and quickness didn’t make him standout, but the way he ran the ball did. Whenever, Lloyd got the ball he made his presence known. Lloyd broke through a lot of tackles to get the necessary yards, he really knew how to stay on his it was hard to tackle him and bring him down. It typically took more than two defenders to break Lloyd down. Lloyd is a very tenacious runner and for him only being a sophomore he has three whole years to grow, get faster and get stronger. Lloyd ended the night with 15 carries and 75 rushing yards.
#22 Torrie Curry II RB Sr
Now if we’re talking about a quick and fast running back then let’s talk about Torrie Curry II. Torrie is an experienced running back he knew what holes to hit and what paths to take. Torrie never wasted any speed or movement he always ran full speed from when he got the ball until he was brought down. You give Torrie the space however, you weren’t catching him. Torrie was always able to put Summer Creek in a great position to score or kick field goals. Torrie ended the night with 15 receptions and 110 rushing yards.
#6 Cory Nichols Jr QB, WR Jr 6’0
Cory Nichols Jr is just an athlete. Cory is a playmaker he doubled as a quarterback and wide receiver. Cory made plays in both positions he was very fast able to easily get open for passes or just running the ball as quarterback himself. Cory wasn’t the main quarterback so throwing the ball wasn’t his forte, but as a receiver that where he shined the most. Cory was the only player to score a touchdown and he scored two of them. Cory is an amazing athlete in his next two years of football he’ll become a top college prospect.
