Scroll below to take a look at the most intriguing games to watch this week.
Shawnee (4-1) at Cherokee (2-2)
When: Friday at 6pm
Shawnee’s balanced attack will be a hand full for Cherokee but I expect them to compete. This is a big rivalry matchup and you can simply throw out records in this game. Regardless of record this game is always entertaining. Shawnee features a high powered offense led by Senior Quarterback Matt Wesley (Shawnee) who is averaging over 200 passing yards a game. Wilkins can also get it done with his legs. In regards to Cherokee, this is a big statement game for them and will determine their chances in making the playoffs. They will need to slow down Wesley and their passing attack and limit them from scoring a lot of points. Shawnee is currently averaging 35 points a game this season. They are capable of running up the scoreboard at any time.
Woodbury (5-0) at Pennsgrove (3-2)
When: Friday at 6pm
This game will feature top prospects. However, Woodbury would like to establish themselves as the best team in Group 1. They are led by Senior Runningback Theodore Lockhart (Woodbury) who is one of the top backs in Group 1. Last week against Palmyra he rushed for 137 yards on 6 carries with 3 touchdowns. Woodbury will look to get him going early to have a chance at winning this game. On the other hand, Pennsgrove is looking to rebound after a disappointing loss to Woodstown last week.
Williamstown (3-2) at Washington Township (4-1)
When: Friday at 7pm
The winner of this game will be one of the top teams in South Jersey Group V: Public. Williamstown have always been the favorite as they look to crown their title who is led by Senior Runningback Turner Inge Turner Inge 5'11" | DB Williamstown | 2022 NJ (Williamstown). Turner is an elite runningback who is committed to Villanova. He will look to carry the load to lead his team to victory. Washington Township is no pushover as this will not be an easy task for Williamstown. Washington Township is coming off a loss to Kingsway last week and they will be motivated to not lose two in a row. Expect this game to be a tight contest.
Camden (2-3) at Pennsauken (4-1)
When: Friday at 7pm
Camden is looking to capture a win to improve to .500. They are fighting for a playoff spot, so every game matters at this point. Camden lost a close game last week to Winslow 22-20 and they will be more motivated than ever to beat their cross town rival. Camden is led by Senior Quarterback Luis Ward Luis Ward 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Camden | 2022 NJ (Camden) who is their leading producer. He has 3 rushing touchdowns and 4 passing touchdowns so far this season. He will have his work cut out for him against a stingy defense. Pennsauken is coming off their first loss of the season last week to Burlington Township and will be looking to take out their frustration against Camden. This game should be exciting to watch, stay tuned.
