Gage Goralski – Penn – TE – 6’2″ 187 lbs
In the biggest game of the year, Goralski came through. Penn found a matchup early on and took advantage most of the night. Gage was feasting in the middle of the field and it didn’t matter what the defense did Goralski found the open zone. He scored the first touchdown of the evening and got the scoring started. He was a mismatch defensively and Penn did a great job of taking advantage.
Marshall Kmiecik – New Prairie – QB – 6’0″ 160 lbs
Kmiecik was able to show his raw athletic ability a handful of times on Friday. He’s a fantastic runner and if he breaks contain he’s going to scramble. He felt the pressure early on and was a bit antsy but he later settled down. He was able to lead them to a TD drive right before the half. He scampered around and then decided to pull it and run. He found the endzone from 15-yards out for his first score of the night. He helped lead New Prairie to a 17-7 win.
Rodney Gates – Elkhart – WR – 6’2″ 175 lbs
Gates was a consistent force for Elkhart again on Friday. He was making catches all over the field and over the middle. He’s not going to lose many 1 on 1 situations down the field either. He had 7 catches for 121-yards and a TD. However, his biggest play was a trick play end around pass where he found his WR wide open for a 75-yard TD.
Greg Atkinson Greg Atkinson 5'11" | 160 lbs | WR Marian | 2022 State IN – Mishawaka Marian – WR/DB – 5’11″ 160 lbs
It was a rainy afternoon but that didn’t stop Atkinson from making a few incredible plays. He was Marian’s leading WR again and he’s always open so it makes sense why they force-feed him the ball. He isn’t going to lose track of the ball and he’ll bring it in on every deep shot. He absolutely “Mossed” someone on Friday for a touchdown and he went wild, the crowd went wild, and even the defender got up and didn’t know what to think. Atkinson scored a TD with 2 minutes left in the game just for good measure as well.
Jeremiah Love – South Bend Adams – RB – 5’11″ 185 lbs
Love looked great on Friday. He’s quickly being regarded as one of the best recruits in the area. You can’t seem to tackle him in the open field and it takes at least 2 defenders to bring him down. He’s a big and strong back who likes to look for contact. He also has the speed to get the edge like he did Friday. He can fly and if he turns the corner you aren’t catching him. He finished the evening with 150 total yards and 2 touchdowns.
