What veteran head coach Rashad West and the Mustangs are looking for is to get the seniors placed at colleges and concentrate on the underclassmen.
While they are a work in progress, setting the table for the future will take time in an area that has several programs who are looking to make it to the next level.
While winning is always important, development and placing the student/athletes at the next level is what this is all about.
For the Mustangs and Coach West, the work for 2022 has already started, and once this season comes to an end, the work will continue – as camps, combines, 7-on-7 events and workouts will be the first order of business.
With a senior class that has been productive on and off the field, the job of getting college coaches to checkout prospects such as Drew Clark (K/P, 6-3, 180), Cameron Madison Cameron Madison QB Bradenton Lakewood Ranch | 2022 FL (QB, 6-3, 205), Neale Ngov (OLB, 6-1, 200), Kaden Rathburn (DL, 6-2, 230) and free safety Corey Vondran (6-1, 175) is what November, December and January will be all about.
UNDERCLASSMEN ARE GETTING THE SPOTLIGHT
As the seniors are being looked at by several colleges, the underclassmen are next up. Juniors such as Isaac Ashley (WR/TE, 6-4, 180) and Kevin Everhart (RB, 5-10, 180) had impressive years and have set the table for the future. So have sophomores (2024) Jayden Munoz (DB, 5-8, 150) and defensive tackle Nathan Smith (6-1, 250).
