It is time for what we learned during week five of the high school football season in the state of Arkansas. Conference play is underway, and we are going to look at some teams and players who had big performances this week.
Looking first at the El Dorado Wildcats offense. The Wildcats offense is one of the most talented in the state of Arkansas. Jackie Washington Jackie Washington 5'9" | 180 lbs | WR El Dorado | 2022 State AR , DeAndra Burns DeAndra Burns 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR El Dorado | 2023 State AR Jr., and Kamron Bibby Kamron Bibby 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR El Dorado | 2022 State AR are one of the most talented receiving corps in the state of Arkansas. All three create separation well and just are a nightmare for the opposing defensive backs to attempt to cover. All three wide receivers have the potential to play on Saturdays as does quarterback Sharmon Rester Sharmon Rester 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB El Dorado | 2022 State AR . The Wildcats are clicking at the right time and that could spell trouble for other conference rivals.
Something a bit head scratching is the number of talented quarterbacks that are playing in the state of Arkansas. It is impressive just how many quarterbacks with division one talent are putting on the pads on Friday nights. Bladen Fike Bladen Fike 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR , Sharmon Rester Sharmon Rester 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB El Dorado | 2022 State AR , Cade Forrester Cade Forrester 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Hoxie | 2022 State AR , and Jordan Mills Jordan Mills 6'4" | 210 lbs | QB Hot Springs Lakeside | 2022 State AR all are slinging the football over the field. Each one is throwing with accuracy and can make the throws needed to earn playing time on Saturdays in the future. Four players scouts and college coaches will want to keep an eye on in the 2022 class as National Signing Day approaches.
Looking at the central part of the state. The Benton Panthers have played some impressive football over the past few weeks. After a tough loss to Bryant to start the season, the Panthers have reeled off four straight victories. Quarterback Stan Smith has done an excellent job of disturbing the football and being accurate with the football. Wide receiver Cameron Harris Cameron Harris 6'3" | 195 lbs | WR Benton | 2022 State AR is a playmaker at the position. Harris has the ability to high point the football and make difficult receptions look easy. Benton is a team to keep an eye on as the playoffs approach, they appear to be clicking at the right time and the Parkview game this week will be big.
Bentonville West, Fayetteville, and Bentonville all had impressive showings in the 7-A West. Bentonville West on the defensive side of the ball was extremely scrappy with linebacker Luke Evans Luke Evans 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Bentonville West | 2022 State AR racking up 18 tackles and an interception. With the Bulldogs of Fayetteville Ryan Maxwell Ryan Maxwell 5'8" | 155 lbs | DB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR and Braelon Palmer Braelon Palmer 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR each having an impressive game against the Rogers Mounties. The entire Bentonville defense only gave up seven points to an extremely talented Fort Smith Southside offense.
