One of the best matchups in the state of Arkansas will take place in Booneville this Friday night. An undefeated Paris Eagles team makes the short trip to Booneville to take on the one loss Bearcats. We will preview this matchup and give a brief look at what is at stake this Friday night.
Looking first at the visiting Paris Eagles. The Eagles have a dynamic offense that can hurt you through the air or on the ground. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="152798" first="Chase" last="Watts"] has a strong, accurate arm that can light up an opposing secondary when given a clean pocket. However, Watts does not mind using his legs to pick up yardage and extend drives. Running back [player_tooltip player_id="171190" first="Duke" last="Walker"] is a player to watch carrying the football. Wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="174559" first="Blake" last="Martines"] is a player that can stretch the field for the Eagles and give opposing defensive coordinators plenty of headaches in the process.
Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball for Paris. The Eagles will need to contain a high-powered Booneville rushing attack. Paris linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="174558" first="Nate" last="Henderson"] will have his work cut out for him on Friday night. Henderson is a player that is always around the football and seems to have a nose for the football. Keeping an eye on [player_tooltip player_id="171190" first="Duke" last="Walker"] lurking in the secondary is not a bad idea either, he does a great job moving up to support stopping the running game.
The Booneville Bearcats are a football team that is built to use a punishing rushing attack to keep the opposing offense off of the field. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="92902" first="Randon" last="Ray"] is creative with the football, and he is not afraid to use his legs to gobble up big chunks of yardage. [player_tooltip player_id="149579" first="Dax" last="Goff"] and [player_tooltip player_id="172372" first="Rylan" last="Ray"] are strong running backs that will force the defense to account for them. The Booneville rushing attack must be accounted for or it could be a long game for the Eagles.
Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball for the Bearcats is a scrappy unit as well. [player_tooltip player_id="149579" first="Dax" last="Goff"] is a player to watch on both sides of the football and as a linebacker he plays with great speed and rarely misses a tackle. [player_tooltip player_id="174134" first="Brett" last="Welling"] on the defensive line is a lineman that can live in the opposing offensive backfield if not accounted for by the offensive line. Both defenses are going to have difficult and dynamic offenses to account for this Friday night. Defensive stops will play a huge role in who can win this football game. Look for a great matchup and this will be a game that many folks around the state circle. Major playoff implications are on the line!
