There is a lot more growing up to do, maturing to happen and football to be played. With that said, there is still reason to celebrate some of the success that class of 2028 prospects around the country are having. In no way am I saying these guys will be inking their name to Alabama or Ohio State come February 2028, but these five below have showed some special talents to this point in their young football careers. Let the debate begin…here are some 2028’s sticking out to me early.
Hayden Monroe | Edge/Tight End | Louisiana
Regardless of what level of football we’re talking about, there’s no substitute for size, nor is there a substitute for speed. Hayden Monroe has both at this point. The 5-foot-9, 165-pound Monroe is an assassin off the edge and has the speed and ability to chase down ball carriers on plays on the other side of the field. He was an Acadiana Christian School Athletic Association 1st team selection on both sides of the ball this year as a 6th grader for the Lafayette Christian Academy.
Emmanuel Moses | Linebacker | Louisiana
If you know anything about football in Louisiana, specifically the University Lab School, the last name Moses should sound familiar. Emmanuel is the youngest Moses boy, who follows in the footsteps of class of 2025 Keylan Moses who holds offers from Alabama, LSU and Louisiana Tech; and oldest brother Dylan Moses, who received an offer from LSU in the 8th grade before playing at Alabama and now with the Jacksonville Jaguars. From the little I’ve seen of him, he’s built just like his brothers and is certainly going to be following down a similar path on the field.
Gabe Kemp | Running Back | New Jersey
It’s hard for anything in life to be unanimous, but Gabe Kemp being the top RB in the Northeast for the class of 2028 is pretty much unanimous at this point. The Brick City Lions standout is simply on another level this season with his play. After being named the 10U MVP of his local league last year, he’s now lighting up the scoreboard on the 11U level. He’s got the speed to take it to the edge and fly, but also the build to handle business between the tackles. He’s also the cousin of one of the most promising 2024 backs in New Jersey, Keyport’s Nazir Treadwell.
Joe Aicher | Quarterback | Florida
The consummate dual-threat quarterback at this level, Aicher is an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on. The Pop Warner All-American Scholar athlete is fun to watch on film because he seems to play with another gear when he has the ball in his hands. While he certainly can make some throws, and has solid passing fundamentals, at this level the ability to hurt teams with his legs is what really sticks out. QB keeper left and QB keeper right, mixed in with a couple passes to keep the defense honest, seems to be the recipe for Aicher’s success.
Christian “CJ” Cypher | Quarterback | Georgia
There is not another quarterback in the class of 2028 that I’ve seen, that I’m more excited to see develop, than Cypher. I’ve seen the film and this kid can put the ball on the receivers in the snap of a finger. I received validation from what I saw with my eyes when I spoke to several coaches and trusted sources…and everybody agrees he’s the real deal. His fundamentals are better than most high school quarterbacks in the country at this point and he’s only in the 6th grade. I’m on the record saying that he’s the best 6th grade quarterback prospect I’ve seen since Trevor Lawrence. He. Is. That. Good.
