A quick scan of the NFL will find guys like Gabe Jackson, Tyre Phillips, and Javon Patterson on current rosters – all Mississippi High School products. Let’s take a look below at some of the top o-line talent for the class of 2022.
Kevin Miller | Warren Central
Miller does not have elite length or size for the next level but makes up for it with his motor. Comes off snap well as a center with a low pad level and keen ability to get to second level. Holds his on in pass blocking. Potential to be a commander and signal caller of the offensive front. Playing elite competition in a tough division. Gritty style of play that is hard to not like.
Stratton Smith | Oxford
Filled out frame with decent length. Good footwork and freedom of movement off the ball. Twitchy feet that stay in front of the defender. Playing a good bit at tackle currently but if he adds much more size will best project at guard. Productive in both run and pass blocking. Good football IQ shows which is not surprising due to good coaching he receives.
Klabron Pollard Klabron Pollard 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Oak Grove | 2022 State MS | Oak Grove
Widely thought of as one of the top o-line recruits in the state for this cycle and deservedly so. Framed to be tackle at next level after added college weight/conditioning program. Athletic build that freely moves. Good with hands. Shows occasional violence that you like from a lineman. Potential shows and frame is one that excites.
Bryson Hurst Bryson Hurst 6'6" | 320 lbs | OL Gautier | 2022 State MS | Gautier
A big ole boy. Hurst knocks on the door of 350lbs but moves better than you’d expect. Ideally would be a tackle with his length but all depends on if can show enough athleticism and stamina to actively set the end for a 4 qtr collegiate game. Wins with sheer strength. Eyes will be focused on him from all over the country during practice for the All-Star game. Current Ole Miss pledge.
Dazmond Galloway | Madison Central
Galloway comes in at 6″3, 300 lbs and certainly wins the eye test. A bit high cut frame wise, but that doesn’t impact his mobility. Athletic and strong. Puts defenders on the ground. Good hand usage. Routinely gets to the second level but with a bit of a tendency to do so at a high level. Good player that should have more going on recruiting wise than he does.
Zerian Hudson | Brookhaven
Hudson wins with his quick ticking motor and good strength to match. Overall size isn’t out of this worldly but it suffices and does not limit. Guard prospect who shows ability to pass protect, pull, and get to the second level of the run game. Raw talent with room to mature and improve.
Dontavius Bell Dontavius Bell 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Warren Central | 2022 State MS | Warren Central
Bell is another piece of a talented offensive line for Coach Morgan at Warren Central. Good length and size match with some movement ability to add. 6″4, 315 lbs that could see a future at either tackle or guard. Frame alone should generate recruiting buzz.
Marlique Fleming Marlique Fleming 6'6" | 260 lbs | OL Holmes Central | 2022 State MS | Holmes County Central
Fleming has lived up to the buzz of being a Pre-Season 5A All-State player with a good 2021 campaign. The eye test is easily a win for Fleming with his 6″6ish frame, but at only 250 lbs he needs to put on some weight. Plays with leverage and has a home at the next level as a tackle. Needs some added weight to help him pack a heavier punch.
