Billy Waters Northwest
Waters is a physical two-way player for Northwest. On the offensive end, he is a fullback that is mostly used as a lead blocker. He is physical and had a great game Friday. Northwest may have struggled to move the ball but Waters did a great job blocking out of the backfield. On defense Waters is a linebacker with great instincts and will come downfield hard to make plays at the line of scrimmage.
Makhi Walker Quince Orchard
Walker is a very versatile player. Quince Orchard uses him everywhere on offense, he lines up at receiver, fullback, and halfback. He is a great receiver which makes him a receiving threat when he’s lined up out wide or a big receiving threat out of the backfield. He is also a great blocker which he displays whether he’s playing receiver or fullback. That’s not all he is also Quince Orchard’s punter. He did it all last Friday.
Chryst Woods Northwest
Northwest had a rough day Friday but Woods had another great performance. He was making plenty of plays in the backfield. He plays with great pad level and speed which makes him very tough to stop. He also was involved in a turnover when he recovered a fumble. Woods proved he’s a top lineman against Quince Orchard’s stacked offensive line.
Bryce Wilson Churchill
Wilson has been one of Selby’s top targets this season. He is a big part of Churchill’s success in the passing game. He showed off he can be a big player on defense. He had a big pick-six Friday to start the game. That was not all as he was fantastic in coverage all game. Churchill gave Richard Montgomery a bunch of different coverages which caused a lot of confusion and multiple interceptions. They were able to do this because Wilson has the ability to cover from both the slot and from safety. Wilson’s big day was a big part of Churchill’s success Friday.
Sam Smith Quince Orchard
A couple of weeks ago Sam Smith nailed a school-record 48-yard field goal. He proved that kick wasn’t a fluke as he hit a 46-yard field goal against Northwest. If he’s able to kick a 46 yarder in the biggest game of the season, expect colleges to trust him to kick on Saturdays in the near future.
Jalen Huskey Jalen Huskey 6'2" | 175 lbs | DB Quince Orchard | 2022 State MD Quince Orchard
Northwest has a lot of good receivers so stopping their pass game was going to be a tough task. Huskey lined up in press coverage and did his job. He was great in coverage and showed why he is one of the top corners in the state. Huskey was not fazed by the talent on the other side and put together another top performance.
