Tyler Woodman | 5’9, 170 | RB/DB | Quakertown | 2022
Woodman’s a highly productive senior out of Quakertown HS. Little bit of DB work but primarily the lead back at QHS. 13 touchdowns halfway through the season. Awesome gait and good balance. Reps as QTHS’s kick returner as well. Deployed most frequently in a two-back set with both backs’ hands in the dirt pre-snap. Absolutely glides on jump cuts, good peripheral vision to jump-cut outside of tackle box if an initial hole is closed. Woodman seems to have an answer for every tackle angle taken against him. Home-run speed is all he’s lacking. He’s got the short-area burst to thrive on inside zone runs, his change-of-direction ability is a plus as well. He provides Quakertown with so much, add blocking and an occasional screen pass to his responsibilities. I love how Woodman lets things develop in front of him, not often running into lanes before they are open.
Brayden Porter Brayden Porter 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Souderton Area | 2022 State PA | 5’11, 190 | RB/LB | Souderton | 2022
Here’s a ranked player out of Souderton who hasn’t blown the roof off this year, but is due for continued success as we hit the second half of the season. Brayden Porter Brayden Porter 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Souderton Area | 2022 State PA is a true north-and-south back who boasts a tough forward-heavy running style that, matched with his compact build, allows him to easily absorb hits from defensive backs in the second level. Good head of steam once he gets going, can hit his top gear quickly too, within 10-15 yards. Mid-season stats go as follows. 59 carries, 4 receptions, 450+ total yards from scrimmage.
Nyfise McIntyre | 5’10, 180 | RB | Upper Dublin | 2023
Wrote a little about how impressed I was with 21’s efforts in live action this past weekend. Here’s a little more on McIntyre’s game after some more film study. This kid gets a ton of traction, gearing up with heavy arm swings to really run through arm tackles. Aggressive mindset, tone-setter, runs with an attitude. Solid bounce ability, is seen gliding after handoff to let blocks develop. This kid is a great short-distance runner and could be a dominant red-zone presence if Upper Dublin wants him to be. I love his repertoire of moves in the open field. He isn’t the most elusive but will still try to cut on you. Nasty stiff arm, hesitation moves, spin moves after contact, you name it. The tape shows he can be trusted to catch out of the backfield, a huge component of his recruitment. I want to see more in this area though! Stock rising!
Levi Carroll Levi Carroll 6'4" | 180 lbs | WR North Penn | 2022 State PA | 6’4, 180 | WR | North Penn | 2022
268 is far too low of a ranking for this kid. I’ll be first to say it. Carroll is the first non-RB on the list. Awesome, desirable build for an outside lane wideout. I’m blown away by this kid’s size/speed combination. Carroll isn’t a quick-footed slot prospect whose speed comes from foot quickness, this kid is going to burn you with his effortless stride. 6’4, hardly looks like he’s breaking a sweat, next thing you know he’s behind the defense sizing up a deep ball from Zeltt. His gait is super clean which allows him to seamlessly transition out of breaks and into his stem. Serious vertical threat. Can work with his QB on the fly, showing he has good situation awareness. Can’t speak enough about his hands, loads of catches away from his body. Good understanding of route manipulation. I don’t come across too many 6’4 kick returners in high school, or anywhere to be honest. He’s a kick returner and a damn good one. His big body allows him to eat up physical contact at the catch point. He’s beating defenders above their head downfield and behind the line of scrimmage in the screen game. What can’t he do? 268 is too low!
Cameryn Jackson Cameryn Jackson 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Upper Moreland | 2022 State PA | 5’10, 165 | RB/DB | Upper Moreland | 2022
Arguably the best open-field wiggle, elusiveness of this list. Slithery is the best way to describe the kid. He cuts with a purpose, gets low on each cut, displaying serious ankle bend and balance. Awesome overall quickness with the ball in his hands. Three lateral steps can create a ton of displacement. Jackson is the highest-ranking prospect in this piece, his midseason tape has proved our rankings right on him. Pass catcher out of the backfield. Elite kick return ability. Best straight-line speed in this piece. This kid can stop and cut on a dime, not sure how his knee doesn’t explode each time. This kid is a dancer in the open field. Great flexibility equals great athleticism. He also contributes as a defensive back.
Kyle Lehman Kyle Lehman 5'9" | 165 lbs | RB Wissahickon | 2023 PA | 5’9, 180 | RB/ATH | Wissahickon | 2023
Here’s another high-volume producer at running back, this time out of Wissahickon HS. Lehman can cut at seemingly full speed. He’s got home-run hitting speed that allows him to take inside zone handoffs all the way to the house. Good initial vision in the backfield. Patient in the angles he takes, confident enough in his burst to be patient. He’s such a good all-around back, that there is too much for defenders to think about when sizing him up in open space. Quick upfield burst combined with disciplined eyes keeps defenders on edge and off guard. This kid isn’t weak in any sense of the word, before you know it it’s time to meet him in the whole, if you’re thinking, he’s going to win. A lot to think about when tackling Lehman.
Mustafa Thompson Mustafa Thompson 5'11" | 185 lbs | DB Wissahickon | 2022 State PA | 5’11, 180 | DB | Wissahickon | 2022
Here’s a new name to the site. Mustafa Thompson Mustafa Thompson 5'11" | 185 lbs | DB Wissahickon | 2022 State PA provides Wissahickon with good off-coverage and aggressive press coverage from his outside cornerback spot. Good overall awareness, especially when his backside is to the sideline. Really consistent footwork when his target is working outside in. Not too many false steps are seen throughout his tape. Kid has a long and productive tape thus far. Ton of PBU’s on the year. Confidence shows pre/post snap. I wonder what his overall athleticism is like, he’s a little bit on the heavier side when thinking about your traditional cornerback size. The extra weight allows him to absorb contact better and not be bullied and/or manipulated throughout a route. Has a desire to get physical against the run. Solid job containing outside sweeps and bounce-outs. Shaky initially when in press coverage. Can get behind a step if the wideout can make Thompson miss on a jam. Solid recovery ability. Solid bail technique. Can be a tough release if you allow him to get a jam on you. Can really steer wideouts out of the play with a stiff jam at the LOS. I like this kid’s first couple of games. Excited to see more.
