Due to there not being a roster available at the game for either team, it was a bit difficult finding information about some of the players, but I found what was out there. Here are the players that passed the look test along with had solid performances that I saw for each team.
Glenbard South
2024 Offensive lineman Jake Bailey (6’2” and 205lbs)
Good size and athletic ability, Bailey looks the part of a solid future lineman. He’s got room to grow and used his hands well. With the varsity squad graduating some veteran linemen, Bailey could be next man up in 2022.
2025 Quarterback Joseph Villa
A bit on the skinny side but has some potential to add on weight as he continues to get older and had good height right now. Villa might have to bide his time to start with Michael Champagne Michael Champagne 5'10" | 160 lbs | QB Glenbard South | 2024 State IL being a class ahead of him, but he’s got some interesting tools, solid arm and athletic, that could help the Raiders down the road.
2024 Defensive lineman Naron Harris
He moved well for his size and Harris has a good get off as well. The defense struggled as a whole, but Harris held his own against the Ram offensive line. Harris, like Bailey, could see some extended action at the varsity level next season.
2025 Running back Neil Jaber @Flyin_Neil
With Trevor Burnett Trevor Burnett 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Glenbard South | 2022 State IL moving on, the Raiders will have a huge hole to fill at the position. I do feel like they should be in good hands with Jalen Brown taking over but he’ll be a senior. Jaber will provide some depth to the position and potentially some explosiveness. At this point he’s a name to watch and could make an impact in a year or two.
2025 Linebacker Zachary Hyzy @HyzyZach
Good size and ran well, Hyzy has a solid future ahead of him. A lot of it depends on how he grows into his frame, but that’s the case with many freshman. I did like seeing that he wasn’t afraid to be physical and had some solid recognition skills.
Glenbard East
2024 Defensive end Daniel Zlatanov (6’4” and 195lbs) @dzlatanov87
The frame jumps off immediately and I got a chance to have a longer conversation with Zlatanov to find out his background. He’s just scratching the surface as he just starting playing football his freshman season. A very long and athletic frame that will allow him to add more weight, Zlatanov has some upside as a defensive end.
2024 Defensive back Gianbiagio Brusca @Gianbi_12
The Raiders offense struggled to move the ball and a lot of credit has to go to the two defense backs. Brusca is a bit smaller right now but has good hips and speed. There is a lot to like about his game and he could be making his impact on the varsity level next year.
2024 Defensive back Quami Stanton (5’11” and 135lbs) @QuamiStanton
Stanton has the skill set to be a lockdown corner in the near future. I really liked his speed, he easily ran with the opposing receivers. He does need to add on some weight to be a bigger presence playing closer to the line but the frame will allow him to add that weight on. Staton is athletic, has good hip flexibility and that equates to a lot of potential.
