Our second game has is between Crieghton Prep and Papio South, the Junior Jays are 5-2 and the Titans are 3-4.
Last Weeks Recap

Red Cloud trampled the flyers 60-18 with 393 total yards. our second game was between the Seward Bluejays and the Beatrice Orangemen where the Bluejays snuck by 28-26 and our final game was between the Gretna Dragons and the Elkhorn South Storm. The storm was able to pull it off and give Gretna its first loss. With a final score of 28-20.
Columbus V.S. Bellevue West
Both teams in this matchup come in 6-1 Bellevue West loss against the powerhouse of Millard South and Columbus has been rebounding from a first-week loss to Omaha Central. Ever since week 1, The Discoverers have been winning against every team that has come up to play them. Columbus has a very balanced approach to their game having a good quarterback in Brody Mickey and a food run game with Liam Blaser. Bellevue West is nothing to scoff at either they have had a great season both their QB and RB have over 1,000 yards and 15 or more touchdowns on the season. They have a dominant offense and defense and it will be interesting to see if Columbus can pull the upset.
Offensive Standouts – Brody Mickey, has been dominant for Columbus this year and have been using him a lot in their balanced approach. He is 63/87 987 yards and has 15 total touchdowns. That is a great start to show how much he can do.
Defensive Standouts – Preston Ames Preston Ames 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Bellevue West | 2022 State NE 6’0″ 180lbs Preston is a defensive stud with 28 total tackles two fumble recoveries and 4 interceptions. A jack of all trades, he really completes the Thunderbird Defense.
Papillion LaVista South V.S. Crieghton Prep
Record wise this game isn’t too important looking at this game from afar however when you look closer you see two teams that might not be at the top but, are very close. First Papio South has 3 close losses that almost went in their favor and shows how much they pushed for a win. Their only bad loss was to Omaha Westside. They have a great QB in Brady Fitzpatrick and WR Ian Medeck both together they have scored 8 touchdowns and 381 yards on only 25 receptions. Creighton Prep has had similar problems with some losses. They had a close loss to Bellevue West and were beat by Westside. They have a balanced offense along with some good weapons around their QB. It will be a great game to watch and to see how much Papio South will fight to stay in contention.
Offensive Standouts – Brady Fitzpatrick 6’0″ 165lbs, Fitzpatrick is a strong QB even though he doesn’t have the cleanest completion percentage at 87/159 he has a great arm and has the yards to boot. This season he has thrown for 1,003 yards and 10 total touchdowns. He can still make you pay and that is why he’s a great weapon.
Defensive Standouts – Nick Ripple 5’10” 225lbs, Ripple is a filler he can stop anything whether it’s a quarterback running back, or a receiver. This year he has totaled 60 total tackles 38 of those were assists and the other 22 were solo tackles. A beat that would make any back scared of going past the line of scrimmage.
This is one of the last games between undefeated teams when SCOTUS plays Boone Central. The Shamrocks have done a lot this year they have blown out their last two opponents and have stayed dominant for the whole season. Last week they had 247 total yards and two fumble recoveries and still won 42-7. Boone Central has has an amazing season Braden Benes has gone 34 out of 54 for 437 yards and 6 touchdowns. Their RB Parker Borer has had 82 carries for 588 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Cardinals have been dominant and can take that dominance all the way to state.
Offensive Standouts – Garret Oakley 6’5″ 205 lbs, Oakley is tall and has a huge wingspan he can go up and catch anything and tower over the secondary. Not only this but his size makes him very good at blocking for screens or running backs. Look out for him to have an amazing game.
Defensive Standouts – Ashton Schafer 6’1″ 195lbs, Schafer is a dual-threat on both sides of the ball, but his performance on defense has really impressed us. So far this year he has had 54 total tackles and had 31 of those being solo. He can really wrap up and take a man down. He will be a key in stopping Scotus.
