This was a game full of D1 talent and it was easy to see on Friday night. big players made big plays all night, but in the end, the Warriors offense was just too much for the Raiders.
Who were some of the game’s top performers? Prep Redzone breaks it down.
De’Nylon Morrissette De’Nylon Morrissette 6'1" | 200 lbs | WR Brookwood | 2022 State GA – WR – North Cobb
The four-star wideout and future Georgia Bulldog has been on a tear since coming back from an injury that kept him out of the start of the season, and he was excellent once again on Friday night. The 6-foot-2 200-pounder is a reliable pass-catcher, but it seems like he gets faster and faster each week. Morrissettee found the endzone once again while showing quickness, great burst, and the ability to run after the catch. He also brought a physical presence on the outside and opened up a lot ground on the edge for the North Cobb rushing attack. Morrissette did everything asked of him against Walton and looked like the best player on the field more often than not. Now that he’s healthy, there aren’t many who will be able to stop Morrissette the rest of the way.

QB Malachi Singleton Malachi Singleton 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB North Cobb | 2023 State GA – QB – North Cobb
We’ve written about him a lot so far this season, and for good reason. One of the top dual-threat QB prospects in the country, Singleton once again showed how dynamic he is as a runner, rushing for multiple TDs once again in the big win. He’s developing more and more as a passer, and had a great TD throw to De’Nylon Morrissette De’Nylon Morrissette 6'1" | 200 lbs | WR Brookwood | 2022 State GA e, but his ability to carve up Walton’s defense with his legs is what killed them all night. He’s built well and has powerful legs in his 6-foot-1 220-pound frame, so he’s a guy who can break tackles AND take off for a big gain. He’s excellent around the goal-line and rushed for 4 touchdowns on Friday night. He’s so tough to tackle by just one defender, and he loves to bowl over defenders down by the goal-line. Singleton is having a dominant junior season and scored five total touchdowns against a very impressive 7A Walton team.

Sutton Smith Sutton Smith 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Walton | 2022 State GA – RB – Walton
It obviously wasn’t a great night for Walton, but running back Sutton Smith Sutton Smith 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Walton | 2022 State GA proved why he’s one of the top running backs in all of North Georgia. At 5-foot-11 180-pounds, Smith is a dynamic athlete who can line up anywhere offensively and is an excellent option in the return game. He’s a one-cut slasher who can get upfield in a hurry, but he also runs with some power behind his pads. He’s a big weapon around the goal-line and rushed for two touchdowns in the contest. A Memphis commitment, Smith gave the North Cobb defense trouble at times and he slipped through small holes between the trenches. He’s a tough runner with some wiggle to his game, and he was easy to spot all night long.

Reggie Givhan – ATH – North Cobb
Looking for explosiveness? That’s exactly what Givhan brings to the North Cobb offense. The 5-foot-10 170-pound athlete is deadly with the ball in his hands and he showed why on Friday night. Givhan is having a big senior season so far, and he might get more opportunities to touch the ball moving forward after zig-zagging his way for a long kickoff-return TD. Givhan broke tackle after tackle, keeping his balance and finding the endzone right before halftime, giving North Cobb the momentum. That was exactly the spark they needed as they would go on to blow out the Raiders in the 2nd half. Givhan’s return is one of the best you’ll see all season, and watching it in person was worth the price of admission.
North Cobb's Reggie Givhan breaks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 tackles and takes it 75 yards for the touchdown 💪@givhaniii | @OfficialGHSA | @NCWarriorsFB |
