It really could have broken down many ways with Beatrice, Waverly, Norris, and Plattsmouth all heading to the post-season. Crete has a very talented roster that was a few bad breaks away from joining their B-3 mates. Regardless, this district was a gauntlet that saw Plattsmouth making it out with a perfect record.
Beatrice:
WR/DB Elliot Jurgens – 2022
6’ 175 lbs | Hudl
Elliot was Mr. Versatile for the Orangemen as he produced on the ground, through the air, and on defense. Jurgens was the leading receiver on the team with 524 yards and five receiving touchdowns. He was also able to gain 480 rushing yards and hit pay dirt eight times on the ground. Jurgens’ versatility and productivity have been a theme throughout his prep career, as he has been highly consistent. Jurgens also racked up 22 tackles and two tackles for loss on defense while he helped patrol the skies. Jurgens is as reliable as they come and should continue his ways throughout his collegiate career.
Crete:
RB Isaac Kracl Isaac Kracl 6'0" | 175 lbs | RB Crete | 2022 State NE – 2022
6’ 175 lbs | Hudl
Kracl started the season on an absolute tear with 3 out of 4 games with 200 rushing yards. He crossed the 1,000-yard rushing mark in only six games and scored 13 touchdowns, also racking up 214 receiving yards. He is an excellent runner with great vision and breakaway speed to hit the home run ball. He was able to keep the ball rolling for the Crete offense and opened it up for other playmakers to take advantage of loaded boxes. Kracl will be an excellent addition to anyone’s backfield.
Norris:
QB Cooper Hausmann Cooper Hausmann 6'0" | 190 lbs | DB Norris | 2022 State NE – 2022
6’ 190 lbs | Hudl
Hausman is one of the most underrated QBs in the state. He is an exceptional dual-threat QB that does an excellent job reading what the defense gives him and making them pay for it. Cooper is very shifty and is a lot of work to bring down in the open field. He showed off his arm talent by making throws to all parts of the field. He is able to throw with touch and deliver a very catchable ball. Hausmann’s connection with Konsbruck was special, and it helped keep defenses on edge. Hausman looks to have received a PWO to Nebraska and competing for their QB job.
Plattsmouth:
RB Christian Meneses Christian Meneses 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Plattsmouth | 2022 State NE – 2022
5’11″ 185 lbs | Hudl
Meneses continues to gash class B defenses at will. He is a tiring back, which makes defenses wish they would kick on the running clock. He is sitting at 2,017 rushing yards and an eye-popping 30 rushing touchdowns at eight games and will only continue to add to these totals. Meneses blend of power running and game-breaking speed have made him impossible to game plan against. The entire offense and defense benefit from Meneses’ hard-running style. Able to keep the clock moving and helping the Blue Devils stick to their “script.” A motivated Meneses with a massive chip on his shoulder is not necessarily a sight you want to see as a defense during the playoffs. With the whole squad playing at an elite level, expect the Blue Devils to run Meneses to Memorial.
Waverly:
DL Trevor Brown Trevor Brown 6'2" | 270 lbs | DL Waverly | 2022 State NE – 2022
It benefits from having a rugged defensive lineman to weather the storm in a district filled with brutal, physical offenses. Brown doubled on the offense and defensive line and was a consistent force on both sides. As an offensive lineman, he delivered to open up run lanes and help keep Murray/Jackson upright in the pocket. Defensively, he is a monster that can tear into any backfield and shut down running attacks. He uses his wrestling expertise to gain leverage and throw his opponent off their games. Trevor will be heading to North Dakota State to continue his terrorizing ways.
