Earlier this week, we updated the 2023 rankings with an updated Top 100, ranking the top 100 junior prospects in Oklahoma. We had plenty of prospects that soared up the rankings. Plenty of prospects holding on firm in their ranking from the summer. Then we had plenty of new faces that made their debuts in the ranking on Monday. You can check out the complete Top 100 Right Here. In this post, we’ll take a look at some of those prospects who made the biggest jumps in our latest ranking update. We had a few prospects jump over 20 spots within the rankings so this is part two! To check out part one, CLICK HERE.
Dietrich Moore

Broken Arrow | 2023

– Linebacker – Broken Arrow
(Went From #55 To #25)
Our first prospect is the only defensive prospect on this breakdown and coincidentally the prospect who made the biggest leap in the last ranking update. Broken Arrow linebacker Dietrich Moore Dietrich Moore 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Broken Arrow | 2023 State OK went from being a borderline top 50 prospect to #25 and in the conversation for being the top linebacker in the state’s 2023 class. The 2022 class is absolutely loaded with linebackers and hybrid linebackers and there are plenty of them available in the top 100. However, Moore and Holland Hall’s Parker Jenney Parker Jenney 6'1" | LB Holland Hall | 2023 State OK are the only linebackers in the top 50 as of right now. And in another coincidence, Jenney made a massive jump in the recent ranking update from unranked to #24 after the start of his junior year. Moore has made a big leap as well based on the start of his junior season. We have been so impressed with what we’ve seen from Moore this year and he’s established himself not only as one of the top linebackers in the state’s 2023 class but he’s an outstanding athlete as well. We think he’s just scratching the surface on what he could be at the next level but when it comes to all of the prospects in the 2023 class, with the exception of the prospects who were not ranked previously, no prospect made a bigger jump than Moore.
Emery Neeley

Owasso | 2023
State

– Running Back – Owasso
(Went From #59 To #32)
Owasso has a three-headed monster at the running back position with seniors Derrick Overstreet Derrick Overstreet 5'7" | RB Owasso | 2022 State OK and Deshawn Kinnard Deshawn Kinnard 5'11" | RB Owasso | 2022 State OK and junior Emery Neeley Emery Neeley 5'11" | RB Owasso | 2023 State OK . After checking out the Rams this offseason and seeing them this year, we think that the junior might be the best of the bunch. As far as a college prospect, Neeley has the size and athleticism to really join the conversation in a 2023 class that is full of some really talented running backs. And honestly, splitting carries and not being a workhorse has not hurt Neeley or some of the other top backs in this class and they’re still the best of the best. However, we can’t help but think about what Neeley will look like next year after Kinnard and Overstreet graduate and it’s him in the backfield ready to take his game to the next level. Because of all of these things, Neeley made a big jump in the recent ranking update, jumping up 27 spots and becoming a borderline top 30 prospect. The Owasso product has a high ceiling on what he could end up being and while we see flashes of it right now, we can’t wait to see more when the workload gets a little heavier for him in the future.
Gage Gundy
Gage
Gundy
6'3" | 200 lbs | QB
Stillwater | 2023
State
OK
– Quarterback – Stillwater
(Went From #75 To #50)
This jump was bound to happen for Stillwater junior quarterback Gage Gundy Gage Gundy 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Stillwater | 2023 State OK . We had the young gunslinger ranked at 75 in the last update over the summer but that was without Gundy officially starting a game. Everyone knew that the Stillwater product would have a chance to be pretty good but he had to come out and prove it. So far this season, we’re buying in enough to bump him up to #50, jumping up 25 spots since the last ranking update. Stillwater is certainly still a run-first team but we are really impressed with Gundy and how he’s running the offense. When it’s time to make throws, Gundy can throw it all over the field and be incredibly accurate with it. The one time that I saw this Stillwater team in person, Gundy led the Pioneers to the win with a 50+ yard touchdown pass on fourth down with under a minute to play. Gundy only needed a few yards to pick up the first down but he was poised and stepped up in the pocket and made a big throw down field to his receiver. The 2023 quarterback class in Oklahoma is very talented and incredibly deep and Gundy has to be considered alongside those other prospects. He doesn’t have as many reps but the ceiling is in the same ballpark.
Lathan Boone
Lathan
Boone
6'1" | 175 lbs | QB
Booker T Washington | 2023
State
OK
– Quarterback – Booker T Washington
(Went From #80 To #60)
Our final stock riser is another quarterback with Booker T Washington quarterback Lathan Boone Lathan Boone 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Booker T Washington | 2023 State OK . We just mentioned how special and talented the 2023 quarterback class is and Boone has to be included in the discussion after the jump he has made as a passer this year. We have to start this off with a disclaimer though. No other 2023 quarterback has the kind of skill players that Boone is throwing the ball to. He’s throwing to top prospects like Gentry Williams Gentry Williams 6'0" | DB Booker T Washington | 2022 State OK and Micah Tease Micah Tease 6'1" | WR Booker T Washington | 2023 State OK who are not just elite prospects but top three prospects in their respective classes. So that certainly helps Boone at the quarterback position. However, he doesn’t force feed them and he’s able to distribute the ball to several other wide receivers and has been incredibly accurate and efficient with the football this season when we’ve seen him. Boone also has the ability to tuck the ball and run but he shouldn’t be considered a true dual-threat quarterback. Because even when he escapes the pocket, he’s keeping his eyes down field and looking to still make a pass. Boone jumped 20 spots in the last ranking update and that could be just the beginning as he gets more and more comfortable in the Hornet backfield.
