Woodlands had a great defensive lineup starting with linebacker Martrell Harris Martrell Harris 6'1" | 205 lbs | LB The Woodlands | 2022 State TX . Martrell was an aggressive linebacker he specialized in blitzing. Martrell blitzed almost every play stopping a good amount of Katy’s run plays. Martrell was also able to affect some of Katy’s pass plays as well. Martrell is a college prospect having quite a few offers from UT Austin, Texas A&M, University of Louisiana Ragin Cajuns, University of Arkansas, Ole Miss, Norte Dame, Baylor University and etc. Martrell with all of these decided to commit to Texas A&M.
#99 John Podowski DE Sr
John Podowski was an impressive defensive end. John was quick off the ball and strong standout qualities for a defensive end. John was able to use his quick hands and power to get pass the offensive line and get into the backfield. John is a valuable defensive end he’s sure to have a great senior year.
#25 Jacob Pondant LB Jr
Jacob Pondant had one hell of a night against The Katy Tigers. Jacob is a defensive linebacker and a strong one at that. Jacob was major threat to the Katy Tigers and gained ten tackles, a sack, and put a stop to a 4th down run giving his team the momentum they needed. Although, The Woodlands ended up losing Jacob was a big contributor in keeping the score very close. Jacob throughout the four games has made 39 tackles. I’m expecting a lot great things from Jacob in his Junior and Senior year.
#42 Tommy Kratt IMB Jr
Tommy Kratt was a decisive inside linebacker. Tommy made and assisted in a good amount of stops. Tommy was good at reading plays being able to see where the ball was going and immediately went to it. Tommy and Jacob were a great duo causing a lot of turmoil for the Katy Tigers offense.
#96 Reilly Payne NG Jr
Reilly Payne was another standout defensive linemen. Reilly is a powerful nose tackle able to overpower the Katy Tigers offensive line. Reilly contributed to stopping Katy’s run plays. If Reilly improved his quickness and agility he would become a great college prospect.
