In doing so, a few specific players have already managed to rack up a high volume of sacks, making a huge difference for their team.
Jaylen George Jaylen George 6'2" | 250 lbs | OL Collins Hill | 2022 State GA – (DE) Collins Hill
As a DE, George has had a great start to the season. So far, he leads his team in sacks by 1 sack. In total, he has 6 sacks, which also leads the entire state. In both of his team’s wins, against Brookwood and Greenville, he had 3 sacks each game. Along with this, he has also totaled 18 tackles so far this season, with 14 of them being solo tackles. In addition to this, he also has 7 QB hurries, which has certainly assisted with high levels of production for his team’s defense.
Javeon Miller- (LB) Creekside
So far this season, Miller has displayed a very high level of production for his defense. Not only has he totaled 5 sacks to this point of the season, but he has also totaled 16 tackles, with 6 of them being solo tackles. Out of each of his performances so far this year, one can assume his production during his first game was one of his best, as he managed to total 7 tackles, with 6 of them being solo tackles. In this game he had 2 sacks. With this, in the second game, he managed to accumulate 3 sacks, but did not have as many total tackles.
Deon Crawford- (LB) Collins Hill
What makes Crawford’s success as a LB even more impressive is the fact that he has already racked up 5 sacks for his team, while also seeing the success of his team Jaylen George Jaylen George 6'2" | 250 lbs | OL Collins Hill | 2022 State GA , who has accumulated 6 sacks of his own. While 4 of these sacks came last game against Greenville, he has also managed to perform with high production, as he also had 1 sack in his first game against Brookwood. To add to this, he has also totaled 21 sacks this season, while also making 11 solo tackles. This high level of production has helped him to average 10.5 tackles a game, making him a force to be reckoned with.
Ty Anderson- (LB) Thomasville
Out of all of the players on this list, Anderson has had one of the best seasons. While he has 5 sacks and is 1 sack away from being tied with the top leader in sacks in the state, he has managed to have a high level of production when it comes to tackles. This year, he has totaled 43 tackles, with 35 of them being solo tackles. To add to this, this has also helped his team to rack up a 3-0 record so far this year. In each of these games, he has racked up sacks, including his 2 sacks the past two weeks, and his solo sack during week one against Brooks County. Just like the Thomasville fans, we feel that Anderson is certainly worth tracking the rest of this season, as he could very likely become one of the better players in the state of Georgia this year.
