However, St. John High School won the game by one point. The final score was 34 St. John Mavericks (3-0) and 33 Fort Bend Christian Eagles (2-1). Both teams had a lot of outstanding players I’ll be discussing Fort Bend Christian’s offense.
#14 Brady Dever Brady Dever 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Fort Bend Christian Academy | 2023 State TX QB Jr 6’2 185 lbs
Brady Dever Brady Dever 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Fort Bend Christian Academy | 2023 State TX has good potential as a quarterback. Brady could threw the ball pretty well I would just say he need to improve on his accuracy especially under pressure. Brady got sacked a few times because he couldn’t get the ball out quick enough and he missed a lot of passes that could changed the tide of the game. Brady did have great form when throwing the ball. Brady was also aggressive during handoff plays after he handed it off Brady would assist in blocking. If Brady could develop better game sense and improve his accuracy I think he’ll be a great quarterback.
#11 Braylon Gardoni WR Jr 5’11 170 lbs
Fort Bend Christian had a lot of great wide receivers, but the that stood out the most was Braylon Gardoni. Brady Dever Brady Dever 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Fort Bend Christian Academy | 2023 State TX threw the ball mostly to Braylon and for good reason. Braylon was very fast able to outrun and maneuver around his defender. Braylon usually ran a long post and sometimes went for a curl route. Braylon ended the night with one touchdown and got a two point conversion.
#4 Donovan Dixon WR 6’3 180 lbs
Donovan Dixon is a very big body. Donovan’s height made him standout the most, but he’s more than just his height. Donovan is a great athlete fast, quick and strong. Donovan was also aggressive and great at blocking he drove down a defender for ten plus yards down the field. One thing I would say Donovan would need to work on is his catching he dropped a good amount of easy touchdowns that could of changed the whole game.
#2 Bryan Domino WR Jr 5’9 160 lbs
Speed is definitely an important factor being a skilled player especially a wide receiver. Fast is the one word I would use for Bryan Domino. Bryan speed is incredible whenever he got the ball it was definitely hard to catch him. Bryan has a lot of potential, however I don’t think Fort Bend Christian was using him the best way possible. Most of time Bryan got short routes he got a few yards, but I think he be more useful on long routes down the field and letting him utilize his speed.
#5 Sam Leblue
I love a persistent and agile running back like Sam Leblue. Sam definitely knew how to run the ball and blew through St. John’s defense. Sam kept on breaking tackle after tackle averaging a lot of yards. Sam had a good amount of speed, but I think if he did get faster and slimed out he’ll be better running back. Sam ended the night by rushing in two touchdowns.
