St. Anthony got off to a rough 0-3 start but has since won three consecutive game. The most impressive of which may have come in week five when the Saints went down to Orange County and beat Marina. Aupiu is one of the more underrated running backs in Southern California. He rushed for 268 yards and four touchdowns in the 43-27 win. Last week against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, he rushed for 356 yards and four touchdowns which earned him Press Telegram Player of the Week honors.
The turning point of Friday’s victory over Marina was this 85 yard touchdown run by #SAHS senior running back Sone Aupiu. This was his third score of the game.

Max Garrison Max Garrison 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB St. Francis | 2022 State CA , St. Francis, 2022
Garrison had a phenomenal performance in week one against Mira Costa when he rushed for 362 yards and six touchdowns which should have landed him on this list. He struggled against a good Damien team but rebounded this week in a win against Los Altos. The San Diego State commit rushed for 150 yards on 13 carries with three touchdowns. Garrison is an elite running back but San Diego State recruited him as a safety.

Nova Kebeli Nova Kebeli 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Portola | 2022 State CA , Portola, 2022
Kebeli is a regular on this list, but he had a career game in a competitive win over Northwood which gets him featured again. He rushed for a career-high 260 yards with 32 carries with three touchdowns in the 28-24 win. He also had a long punt return in the game. Portola is more well-rounded than it used to be and is no longer completely one-dimensional, but if they win the Pacific Hills League championship it will be on the back of Kebeli.

Robert Padilla, Taft, 2022
Taft had a 25-game losing streak entering the season and now has a 3-2 record, largely because of Padilla and the running game. The senior rushed for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 35-27 win over Contreras. Taft has won three of its last four games and opens West Valley League play against Chatsworth next week.
Taft, which snapped a 26-game losing streak this season, is now 3-2 after a 35-27 home win over Contreras. Robert Padilla rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Wellington Bristow threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns.

Devin Samples, Long Beach Poly, 2023
Poly had its closest Moore League game in awhile in a 42-38 win over Millikan last week. Samples was a big reason for Poly’s win, gashing the Millikan defense for 284 yards and four touchdowns. The yardage and touchdowns are career-highs for Samples and he doubled his season total in touchdowns which now stands at eight. Poly plays Wilson next week and should cruise through the rest of the Moore League.
