Continue ReadingThe North Cobb Warriors are on their way to a deep playoff run in 7A this fall, which is the largest classification in Georgia. After a tough loss to Buford to open the season, North Cobb beat up on Milton, another top 7A program, and continued their great play this weekend against a up and coming program in Alpharetta. The Warriors dominated from the first whistle and cruised to a 43-7 victory.
Here are some of the top North Cobb offensive performers from the game.
QB Malachi Singleton Malachi Singleton 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB North Cobb | 2023 State GA :
Of course, we have to start with Warriors star Malachi Singleton Malachi Singleton 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB North Cobb | 2023 State GA , one of the top 2023 dual-threat QB prospects in the South. A tremendous runner with a live arm, Singleton is still developing as a passer and overall QB, but he’s getting better and better there by the week. He was sharp and accurate throwing the ball on Friday night, completing 18of 22 passes for 322 yards and three passing touchdowns. This was one of Singleton’s best passing games of his high school career, a great sign for the Warriors offense as they head towards region play. Singleton has run wild through the first two games, but only took off three times for 15 yards and a touchdown. His first first-quarter TD was on a read-option where he kept the ball and exploded up the middle of the field for an easy score. He’s a big, thick QB at 6-foot-1 220-pounds and has great burst for his size. When he gets going, he’s tough to bring down.
But this game was about Singleton throwing the ball. He got the ball out quickly, he showed he can buy time in the pocket, creating a big play to senior Sam Mbake Sam Mbake 6'3" | 205 lbs | WR Brookwood | 2022 State GA in the first half as he scrambled out of the pocket while looking down the field. He made the right decisions, took care of the football, and showed he can play QB at the D1 level. He’s athletic, but he’s an athletic QUARTERBACK at the end of the day. He was excellent during Friday night’s victory.
A rushing TD from North Cobb (GA) QB Malachi Singleton (@M_3Singleton) gives the Warriors another score. We’ve seen that a lot so far this season.

RB Benjamin Hall:
Singleton may not have run the ball much, but junior Ben Hall sure did. One of the breakout offensive players in the region, Hall continued his play against Alpharetta as he carried the ball 14 times for 111 yards and two touchdowns. He had 120 yards through the first two games, but he had his biggest game of the season so far this past weekend. Hall is a tough, strong back with great feet and vision. He follows his blocks well and can burst through the hole like a smaller back. He’s tough to bring down in the open field and runs with authority when close to the goal-line. He’s been a reliable option for North Cobb all season so far and will likely get more opportunities and carries to help out Singleton in the run game.
WR De’Nylon Morrissette De’Nylon Morrissette 6'1" | 200 lbs | WR Brookwood | 2022 State GA :
Back from a hand injury, star wide-out De’Nylon Morrissette De’Nylon Morrissette 6'1" | 200 lbs | WR Brookwood | 2022 State GA played in his first game of the season and made an immediate impact. A four-star prospect and one of the top receivers in the state, Morrissette lined up in the backfield on the first play from scrimmage and took the toss for a 20+ gain. He slashed through open space and carried two Alpharetta defenders for the final few yards. They got him involved early and he ended the game with 9 receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown came at the end of the first half where he created separation easily on an inside slant route. He got a free release and was wide open before the defense knew what happened. He got a lot of throws his way and came down with most of them. The 6-foot-1 200-pounder has excellent feet, he’s a good route runner, and has reliable hands. He’s one of the state’s best for a reason, and now that he’s healthy, he makes North Cobb’s offense even more dangerous. Look for him to have plenty of big games as we progress through the fall.
