Spencer Adams Northwest
Spencer Adams was the best lineman on the field Friday night. Damascus is known for their play in the trenches but that didn’t stop Adams from dominating. He would consistently drive back opposing defenders in the run game. In pass protection, he showed good footwork and was able to protect the edge.
Dillon Dunathan Damascus
Dunathan was one of the biggest bright spots for Damascus. He was a force when he would get downfield. He made plays in the backfield and gave Northwest’s quarterback problems all night. He can line up on the edge and also play as a traditional off-ball backer. Expect Dunathan to have a big break-out season this year.
Mujahid Johnson Mujahid Johnson 6'0" | 190 lbs | DB Northwest | 2022 MD Northwest
Johnson is a deep cover safety. During the spring season, we saw flashes of him, but he had another great game Friday. Johnson showed that he is more than just a cover safety as he came down and made some huge big hits. If Johnson continues to show this versatility he will be seen as one of the top safeties in the county.
Noah Ferguson Damascus
Ferguson was playing on the edge for Damascus. He was a stand-up end/backer and was wreaking havoc. He has the ability to set the edge and keep contain, while also making big plays in the backfield. Expect Ferguson to rack up tons of tackles in the backfield and sacks as this season goes on.
Daryl Harper Northwest
Harper was the best perimeter player on the field Friday. He torched Damascus, they weren’t able to cover him. He also made his presence known on special teams where he was afraid to make big hits. Harper proved that he was the real deal, and expect him to rack up crazy stats this season.
