Since that time, over a dozen new athletes have been identified as top prospects and have been added to the list. A good majority of these players saw their recruitment pick up during the offseason. Prep Redzone will keep our eyes on them and other prospects that we can add to the list at the midway point of the season.
No. 38 Cameron Ball Cameron Ball 6'6" | 235 lbs | TE Gonzaga | 2022 State MD | 6-6 | 235 | TE | Gonzaga
Ball is a bit of a late bloomer. He easily passes the eye test. Ball has an offer from Buffalo and is set to attract the attention of more schools in the upcoming weeks.
No. 70 Jalen Huskey Jalen Huskey 6'2" | 175 lbs | DB Quince Orchard | 2022 State MD | 6-2 | 175 | DB | Quince Orchard
Huskey has offers from Army, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Duke, Marshall, UMass, and Navy. He could only play in two games last spring due to his school not playing in the fall because of COVID-19. He has the length and range at the cornerback position that makes him an attractive recruit at that position. Based on his highlights, he plays in a zone defense that features a lot of Cover 2 and Cover 3 schemes. Huskey is physical at the line of scrimmage and does a good job of impeding the wide receiver’s progress.
No. 18 Kaden Martin Kaden Martin 6'1" | 210 lbs | QB McDonogh | 2022 MD | 6-1 | 210 | QB | McDonogh
The biggest reason Martin did not make the rankings during the previous update is because we weren’t aware that he was at McDonogh. He played his previous two seasons of high school football at Knoxville Catholic in Tennessee. His father, former Tennessee Vols football, was hired by by the Baltimore Ravens to be their wide receivers coach earlier this year. Martin’s 15-plus offers include Arizona State, Arkansas, Duke, Eastern Kentucky, and Kentucky. He is also a Miami (FL) baseball commit. Martin is a southpaw who has a pleasant touch on his deep throws downfield. He’s a very mobile quarterback who can make things happen with his legs as well. From the looks of it, Martin will be playing both baseball and football at the next level. In the meantime, he quickly becomes one of the top quarterbacks in the state of Maryland.
No. 38 Marquise Allsup Marquise Allsup 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Palotti | 2022 State MD | 6-0 | 190 | RB | Palotti
Allsup has offers from Buffalo, UConn, and Syracuse. He’s a three-year starter who also plays the strong safety position.
No. 26 Octavian Smith Octavian Smith 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Paint Branch | 2022 State MD | 5-10 | 170 | QB | Paint Branch
No. 73 Tyler Baskett Tyler Baskett 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Northern | 2022 State MD | 6-0 | 180 | WR | Northern
Baskett is a solid wide receiver/defensive back prospect who is being recruited as an athlete.
No. 76 Jordan Morse Jordan Morse 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Rock Creek Academy | 2022 State MD | 6-2 | 205 | QB | Rock Creek Academy
Morse has a reported offer from Marshall.
