Mitchell Evans Mitchell Evans 5'10" | 180 lbs | DB Center Grove | 2022 State IN – Center Grove – S – 5’11″ 190 lbs
Since the start of the season, Evans has emerged as one of the best DBs in the state. They moved him to the backend of the defense and he’s done nothing but thrive. It’s allowing him to play faster and trust his instincts. He’s now sitting on a few different offers. The Hoosiers have offered him a spot and so has the Air Force Academy. You can expect more offers to come in over the coming weeks.
Winston Berglund Winston Berglund 6'2" | 195 lbs | DB Carmel | 2023 State IN – Carmel – S – 6’2″ 195 lbs
Berglund has done everything asked of him this fall. He’s the leader for Carmel and they feed off of his energy. He’s the fastest and strongest player on the field every week and it shows. Winston has a plethora of offers from schools like IU, Toledo, Ball State, and so on. However, Purdue appears to be in the lead to land Berglund. He was just in West Lafayette for a visit and is getting to know that staff very well. If I had to give a crystal ball guess I would say he ends up a Boilermaker. He fits their scheme and what they want to do on defense and he has the talent to succeed at the D1 level.
Tashy Stewart – Kokomo – WR/S – 6’0″ 175 lbs
Stewart plays both ways for Kokomo but has recently been focusing primarily on defense and it has been working wonders for him. He’s becoming more and more comfortable each week in the backend while learning what to do. He’s a very raw, yet explosive athlete. He’s currently set to go down the JUCO path and see what that can give him according to social media posts.
Zion Woods Zion Woods 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB North Central | 2022 State IN – North Central – DB – 6’0″ 170 lbs
Woods is labeled as a DB because he’s used all over the field. He will line up in the slot, out wide, or back at either safety spot. Everything he does is dependent on the call at hand. He’s extremely versatile and is a quick learner. He does get caught trying to be aggressive every now and then but it is nothing major. He’s currently sitting on an offer from Marian and it seems as though that’s the direction he wants to take.
Quinn Warweg Quinn Warweg 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB Whiteland Community | 2022 State IN – Whiteland – DB – 6’0″ 180 lbs
Warweg is arguably the biggest wildcard in the entire state when it comes to recruits. He’s a freak athlete who plays on raw athleticism and instincts. According to his Twitter page, on April 7th he ran a lasered 4.52 40-yard dash. While I’m unsure how accurate that is and we can probably add at least a tenth of a second, that’s still really quick. He’s gone under minimal weight training and no 40-yard dash training and can run that fast in shorts? That is one heck of an athlete. He is slow playing his recruitment and letting the offers come in. He’s now sitting on offers from Ball State and Valpo. I don’t expect him to make a decision in the near future but when he does we will be on it.
