Mason Sheron – Leo – RB – 5’10″ 185 lbs
He’s healthy this year and he looks good. He made his impact felt early on in the game and never let up. He hit Norwell with a score after patiently finding a hole and making a guy miss. The score was able to silence the crowd and give Leo a ton of momentum The running game got going early with Sheron and they never needed to adjust. They picked up chunks at a time and ate Norwell alive in the A and B gaps.
Ethan Crawford – Leo – RB/OLB – 5’9″ 155 lbs
While Sheron was eating in the middle of the field, the Lions would rotate in Crawford and he would keep the defense honest with the outside zone. He shows great speed and when they run the zone concept Crawford shoots through a cannon. He got one late in the game and turned the corner and was gone. Crawford and Sheron were a great combination on Friday and you can expect that to continue in the coming weeks.
Jon Colbert – Norwell – RB – 6’0″ 190 lbs
On a night where not a ton of things went well, Colbert was the lone bright spot. Leo was able to suffocate most of the offense but it wasn’t able to stop Colbert. Colbert was at least able to move the chains and break tackles. He was able to finally hit the only score for Norwell late in the game. The score didn’t have any impact on the game, but for the guy who was the best player for Norwell it mattered.
Kainon Carico – East Noble – RB – 6’3″ 220 lbs
A lot of things come easy for Carico because of his size. He’s a true 6’3″ and 220 lbs. He’s a fantastic athlete and just bullies defenses. When you watch him, it’s a lot like what Derrick Henry used to look like in HS. The guy who is clearly just bigger, faster, and stronger than everyone? Yeah, that is Carico. He was practically unstoppable on Friday where he just ran wild. He was able to bust a few long TD runs and easily hit over 100 yards again. He even recovered an onside kick in the 1st. He scored on a long TD run and then immediately went and recovered the onside kick. They kicked the onside because they knew if it bounced up Carico could get it. It’s rapidly becoming a part of East Noble’s offense.
Nick Munson Nick Munson 5'10" | 190 lbs | WR East Noble | 2022 IN – East Noble – WR – 5’10″ 185 lbs
Carico wasn’t the only one having fun on Friday. While East Noble was giving Huntington North a beatdown they will remember, Munson also put on a show. He was in control of his body in the air like a magician. He had a touchdown in the back corner of the endzone where he was able to toe-tap it perfectly, with both feet, maintain control, and hit the ground for the score. It was a thing of beauty to match a fantastic performance.
