Trevor Currie – Adams Central – RB/K – 5’11″ 170 lbs
Currie not only has a big leg but he’s a decent athlete and can run the rock. They used him in the backfield Friday and it paid off. He runs hard and embraces contact. He can take a hit and dish one out. He was able to find the endzone on Friday with a heck of a run where he made a guy miss and ran over another for a score. He later had 2 more long TDs. He caught a pass and took it into the endzone and rushed for another from 52-yards out.
Ryan Black – Adams Central – QB – 5’11″ 175 lbs
Black looked decent on Friday. He doesn’t have the biggest arm and isn’t always the most accurate but he’s able to make just about every throw. He’s able to run as well and is a threat to take off so the defense has to pay attention to him there. He jumped over the offensive and defensive line for a score on the goalline. They also create runs for him and he took one on Friday, got the edge, and raced down to the sideline to the 5-yard line.
Blake Heyerly Blake Heyerly 6'1" | 200 lbs | RB Adams Central | 2022 State IN – Adams Central – RB/MLB – 6’1″ 205 lbs
Heyerly was the second hand in a rushing attack that couldn’t be slowed on Friday. He’s a bigger back and is great in between the tackles. He accelerates really quickly and is hard to bring down once he gets full speed. He looked fantastic and showed that he and Currie are a fantastic 1-2 punch. He showed the ability to catch passes as well. He has soft hands and guides the ball into his hands every time.
Owen Wanner – South Adams – QB/FS – 5’10″ 165 lbs
Wanner is a very young quarterback and he’s learning on the fly but he keeps showing a bunch of flash and potential. He’s got a decent arm and can already make most throws you want him to. Friday he was slinging it and letting it rip. It wasn’t always pretty but he’s confident in his ability and he’s getting better every week. He was able to find the endzone with his legs as well. He was throwing guys open and hitting them right in the chest. He’s going to be a really good quarterback but it’s just going to take time.
Treyton Schoch – South Adams – WR/CB – 5’9″ 170 lbs
Schoch is Wanner’s favorite target, and for good reason. Schoch has the ability to locate the football and come down with it every time. He’s shifty and can make defenders miss in the open field. His route running could be cleaned up and he has a ton of wasted movement but that is going to be fixed with coaching over time. He went up and made one grab that made everyone’s jaws drop. He’s reliable and as steady as they come.
