A highly anticipated rematch of last season’s regional semifinal ended with the same result, a big victory by the defending 5A Division 1 state champion Denton Ryan. The Raiders and Lobos traded early touchdowns before Denton Ryan broke the game open on a long touchdown run, a blocked punt returned for a touchdown and a pick 6 all before halftime. The Raiders’ defense flexed their muscle, recovering 3 fumbles along with the pick-six and blocked punt. Ultimately, Denton Ryan got a big 40-7 win and a nice prize to add to their trophy case.
Longview Standouts
#12 QB Jordan Allen – 6’0 170lbs – Class of 2023
Allen got a chance to show off his decent speed and some wiggle on a 46yd touchdown run, the only score for Longview. Unfortunately, Allen was under constant duress and was kept in check most of the day.
#8 WR Jalen Hale Jalen Hale 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Longview | 2023 State TX – 6’2 170lbs – Class of 2023
Hale is the all-time record holder at Longview for most scholarship offers received with 32 offers heading into his junior season. Despite his good route running and getting open, he had a quiet day because his QB didn’t have much time to look for the open man.
#9 WR DeKalon Taylor – 5’7 150lbs – Class of 2022
Taylor got a chance to turn on the jets and showcase his 4.48 speed and shiftiness on an almost 60yd kickoff return.
#80 WR Jartaivan Wright – 6’3 185lbs – Class of 2023
Wright was the most reliable receiver for Longview in this game. He showed an ability to get open and strong hands at the catch point to reel in everything that hit his hands

Davis plugged up the interior of the trenches, recording 6 tackles and 1 sack.
#90 DT Tre’Vious Bates – 6’2 245lbs – Class of 2024

#99 DT Ravante Blowe – 6’3 215lbs – Class of 2022
Blowe was a destroyer of worlds all day long. His quick first step, incredible power, and solid speed led him to record 9 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 hurries.

#7 FS/RB Garyreon Robinson – 5’9 170lbs – Class of 2022
Robinson had a good day rushing the football, but his best play was definitely on the defensive side of the ball. He made an interception in the second quarter and then used his good burst and vision to take it to the house for six.
