All of these guys have flashed promising potential, and have the ability to have breakout senior seasons. Here’s a look at four sleeper QB’s in the 2022 class that should be on your radar:
Isaac Looker Isaac Looker 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Rogers | 2022 State WA , 6’3″ 205lbs, Rogers
Looker sizes up with a tremendous frame and build at 6’3″ 205lbs and possesses a natural arm talent. Very good football IQ with the ability to make quick and decisive reads and possesses a good self clock. Looker shows an excellent demeanor in the pocket and delivers with a rapid quick release. He drives the ball in with velocity and has shown the ability to hit all 3 levels of throws with superb timing. His ability to process reads-release-timing withing a split second is division 1 level, as he flashes this on numerous throws throughout his film (slants, intermediate routes, hole shots, etc..). Definitely one of the most underlooked QB’s in the state of Washington and projects to have a breakout senior season.
Avery Walker Avery Walker 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Mount Si | 2022 State WA , 6’1″ 190lbs, Mount Si
Walker is a dual-threat kid with a strong upside as he continues to mature and develop. He’s collected and locked in with poise in the pocket and delivers with a high and fluid release. Solid arm strength with the ability to use velocity and flashes anticipation for routes to develop. Walker has shown the ability to hit throws from any depth with the ability to deliver accurate throws off-platform as well. Excellent football IQ as he does a great job seeing the whole field by abandoning the pass and taking off when he sees man coverage when the LB’s bail. Solid speed as a ball carrier with the ability to get shifty in space, and is deserving of FCS attention. He comes off a short 3 game junior season, so given a full season in 2021, Walker could take a massive leap in production to land that D1 offer.
Jake Bice Jake Bice 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Peninsula | 2022 State WA , 6’3″ 190lbs, Peninsula
Bice sizes up with a good frame and is trending in the direction of your ideal pro-style QB. He stands tall in the pocket with solid poise to scan the field. He delivers with an effortless release with good timing, and has flashed anticipation on some developing routes. He does a great job using touch and was an impressive deep ball passer during his junior campaign, frequently dropping throws in with excellent placement. Bice has shown the ability to adjust and throw off different arm angles which has been very effective when he faces pressure and various blitz schemes. Big potential for Bice as we head into the fall as he would be a 2022 sleeper to get on your radar.
Paxton Page Paxton Page 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Ferris | 2022 State WA , 6’2″ 190lbs, Ferris
Page displays a solid pre-snap read to identify coverages and mismatches on the outsides. He possesses solid poise in the pocket while scanning the field and has a “pass first” demeanor. He’s shown the ability to hit the deep ball with fairly good timing on most throws, as well as the ability to get the ball out quick when he needs to. Athletic enough to pick up yards on his feet as his speed is very deceptive, and can be utilized on designed QB runs or take off if the pocket collapses. Page has flashed escape artist ability to extend plays and is a solid all-around athlete behind center for Ferris.
