1. Treylin Payne Treylin Payne 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Judson | 2022 State TX (SR-LB) – Judson High School (Converse, TX) – Houston
2020-21 Season: 100 total tackles, 9 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, 2 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, 2 interceptions
Payne was selected to first-team all-district last season and has received multiple offers including from Army, Boston College, Coastal Carolina and Colorado State. The Cougars are getting a patient and opportunistic linebacker to say the least. He plays excellent zone coverage based on his tape but can lay on the big hits when it comes down to it. He has excellent field awareness and can diagnose the play before it happens.
2. Sully Burns (SR-OL) – Plano High School (Plano, TX) – FIU
Burns also received multiple offers from schools including Bryant, Incarnate Word, Southeast Missouri State and Stephen F. Austin. However, Burns committed to FIU just today. He brings both his size, his immense power and his footwork to the Golden Panthers. All of these factors play big for an offensive lineman especially his 6-7 and 305-pound frame. He is essentially a walking, concrete wall that will not let any defenders by him.
3. Hayden Hansen (SR-TE) – Weatherford High School (Weatherford, TX) – Louisiana
Speaking on size, Hansen is 6-6 and 250 pounds, who received a multitude of offers including Colorado, New Mexico, Texas State and UTSA. He also committed just today but to the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. Hansen is excellent at route-running and, despite his size, can seem to find the perfect spot to get open for the reception, but he can also make catches in traffic when necessary, which his size helps a lot with that as he pretty much towers over most defensive backs. Hansen also seems to be the perfect go-to for red zone plays where short-passing is a necessity. It will be fun to watch Hansen play not only this year but in college as well.
4. Jaylen Early Jaylen Early 6'4" | 260 lbs | OL Duncanville | 2022 State TX (SR-OL) – Duncanville High School (Duncanville, TX) – Florida State
Early is amongst the highest ranked in this list in both his position and the state. He received many high-profile offers including from Ohio State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Alabama. However, Early decided with Florida State a month or so after visiting with the college on June 25. He also visited Ohio State, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. Early is the perfect offensive lineman to have on run plays as he can make sure to make the gaps necessary for a successful running play. Florida State just added a force of nature to its arsenal.
5. Ben Rios (SR-OL) – Central Catholic High School (San Antonio, TX) – UTSA
Rios can play both the offensive and defensive line position, so he brings versatility to the UTSA Roadrunners, who he committed to yesterday. He had also received offers from Army, Colorado State, Columbia and Dartmouth. As a defensive lineman, he was excellent at causing disruption, able to quickly get into the backfield to cause chaos. On offense, he made sure the opposite happened and he displays his strength in his tape, digging his feet down and not allowing a defender through him.
