The Indians showed a glimpse of dominance in the shortened 2020 spring season with an undefeated record of 5-0, outscoring opponents 197-38. This years key players aren’t new to the bright lights, as they all contributed to the Indians five game win streak. The Indians posses a lot of speed on their roster, we’ll take a look and see how they can bounce back from the short season. With only eight days into 2021 padded practice the Indians impressed in the passing game and special teams during their preseason scrimmage against the Mount St. Joseph Gaels.
Key Players:
Quentin Demery – #7 2022 QB 6’0 180lbs
Demery displays some impressive pocket awareness and elusiveness while keeping his eyes down field. He stays composed during his scramble allowing him to find receivers who break off of their routes. Very valuable with the offensive weapons on this team. When he does take off he has the speed of any average skill position athlete, making him a threat beyond the line of scrimmage.
2020 Stats: 10/21 306 yards, 5 touchdowns, 3 interceptions. Best game: 4/7 169 yards 2 touchdowns, 10 rushing yards for 1 touchdown.
Gavin Nelson – #2 2022 WR 6’1 175lbs
Gavin is the “go getter” on the outside. He can break away with his 10.9s 100 meter speed, and is an aggressive threat on 50/50 balls. He is an impact player on both sides of the ball as a big play guy on offense and dangerous at defensive back on defense. He has the ability to keep up with opposing receivers and uses his offensive skills when the ball is in the air.
2020 Stats: 195 yards, 8 catches, 3 touchdowns. Best game: 4 catches, 151yards, 2 touchdowns.

Connor Richard – #6 2022 TE/DE 6’3 230lbs
I’ve had the opportunity to personally witness Connors work ethic and personality during his offseason training at JB Performance, a sports performance gym in Baltimore county. He is a workout warrior who always wants to beat his best. He’s a guy you have to stop from doing more, but know he will go the extra mile. Perfect prototype “big skill” player with size, strength, and agility. If he can display some explosiveness behind his pads this season, he will be a force for the Indians.
2020 Stats: 14 tackles,1 sack, 1 reception for 18 yards.

Mehki Workman – #1 2023 WR/S 5’9 165lbs
Workman is a utility fire cracker waiting to pop. He’s listed in the “2023 Players to Watch” article. His explosiveness, quickness, and route running separate him from majority of the athletes in his class. He’s put on a show this offseason at various events including 7on7 tournaments and various prospect camps such as Penn State, Florida, Coastal Carolina and more. He will be on the field a lot for the Indians playing offense, defense, and special teams as a returner and on kick coverage. Excited to see his season unfold.
2020 Stats: 219 All purpose yards, 1 80-yard punt return for a touchdown, 76 receiving yards, 4 receptions, 1 touchdown, 7 solo tackles.

Rodney Nelson Rodney Nelson 5'9" | RB Franklin | 2022 State MD – #5 2022 RB 5’9 180lbs
Has recently been on visits to Univ. of Maryland and JMU. Last year he shared the backfield with Oregon commit Von Reames Von Reames 5'7" | 160 lbs | RB Franklin | 2021 MD . Clocked a blazing 10.6s 100-meter dash. He is a football player that happens to be the fastest 2022 sprinter in the state. He doesn’t shy away from contact and has more than just straight line speed. I predict the offers will be rolling in soon for this kid, whether it’s on the field, track, or both.
