Former Arkansas Razorback Brey Cook takes over the head coaching duties at Pea Ridge this season as the Blackhawks look to bounce back from a tough 2020 season. Pea Ridge has some talented players as well as some experience players on both sides of the ball. We are going to look at some of the key players as well as circle a few games on the calendar that will be important for the Blackhawks.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Blackhawks have a quarterback that can throw and run the ball with equal effectiveness. Logan Stewart throws an accurate football with good arm strength. He does a good job of keeping his eyes down the field and knowing when to take off with the football. Stewart has displayed a willingness to carry the football and is not afraid to take a hit.
Meanwhile, Pea Ridge has a dangerous rushing attack to go along with Stewart. Pea Ridge running back Joe Adams Joe Adams 6'2" | 195 lbs | RB Pea Ridge | 2022 State AR racked up over 700 yards on the ground last season. Adams has shown that he is not afraid to run over defenders or to cut the play outside when needed. Pea Ridge fans can expect to see Cody Morales and Cade Mann earn some carries during the season. The rushing attack has the potential to be special.
The receiving corps has some talented guys that can make plays with the football. Trevor Blair Trevor Blair 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Pea Ridge | 2022 State AR is a solid route runner. Blair has good hands, and he has the ability to create separation with his precise route running. Wide receiver Will Anderson will be a player to watch working the slot receiver position. The receiving corps has the potential to light some opposing teams up this season.
On the defensive side of the ball, Connor Pierce is a player to watch at the defensive tackle position. Pierce is a strong player that uses his power well to defeat blocks. In the secondary, Caleb Neil is a defensive back that harasses opposing wide receivers with a physical style of play. Neil is not afraid to make a tackle and fend off a block.
2021 Prediction:
Pea Ridge has an opportunity to improve tremendously this season. Keeping Joe Adams Joe Adams 6'2" | 195 lbs | RB Pea Ridge | 2022 State AR and Logan Stewart healthy will be important to improving this season. The games to circle on the calendar are the Shiloh Christian and Prairie Grove games. Both of those games will help determine how improved the Blackhawks are this season. The Blackhawks have a chance at a playoff berth with some upsets this season.
