The Senators are coming off a season where they racked up a fourth straight conference championship. Robinson has the talent on both sides of the ball to cause plenty of problems for opposing teams. We are going to look at some of the key players that the Senators will rely on as well as give a prediction for the season.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Senators are going to have a strong running game and impressive offensive line. However, we will look at first at the quarterback position. Jack Cleveland saw some snaps a season ago. Cleveland passed for 144 yards and three touchdowns and displayed a strong arm in the process. Gkyson Wright will have the opportunity to earn some snaps this season as well. Both quarterbacks have an accurate arm and can run the offense efficiently.
With the rushing attack for the Senators. Robinson has one of the state’s best running backs running the ball. Daryl Searcy rushed for 365 yards and five touchdowns last season. He has excellent speed, and he can punch the ball in the end zone from anywhere on the field. Searcy has the ability to cut it outside or run between the tackles and he is going to give opposing defenses plenty of headaches. Ty Massey Ty Massey 5'10" | 200 lbs | RB Fort Smith Northside | 2022 State AR is another explosive running back for the Senators that will some snaps this season. Kirby Owens does a great job separating from the opposing defensive backs. Owens averaged 12 yards per reception a year ago.
Meanwhile, on the offensive line, E’Marion Harris E’Marion Harris 6'7" | 375 lbs | OL Joe T. Robinson | 2022 State AR anchors the offensive line. Harris is the Prep RedZone Arkansas number one player overall in the class of 2022. The offensive line is an experienced unit with Micah Pennington returning at the tackle position. Eli Jackson Eli Jackson 6'3" | 260 lbs | DL Joe T. Robinson | 2022 State AR returns at the guard spot and this unit does an excellent job of opening up the rushing lanes for the Senators.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Senators are not short talented players at all. Linebacker Ashtyn Williams Ashtyn Williams 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Joe T. Robinson | 2023 State AR racked up the tackles a season ago amassing 97 tackles. E’Marion Harris E’Marion Harris 6'7" | 375 lbs | OL Joe T. Robinson | 2022 State AR is a powerhouse and will work on the defensive side of the ball as well. Harris had 41 tackles and five sacks last season. The defense has talent all over the field and the potential to cause opposing offenses plenty of problems.
2021 Prediction:
The Senators have an excellent shot of winning a conference championship and making a deep playoff run. Keeping Searcy and Harris healthy will help determine how far the Senators can go this season. Fans should circle the Nashville and Ashdown games as key games that could help determine who wins the conference championship and sets themselves up well for the playoffs.
