The first game we are going to preview is a battle in Northwest Arkansas between the Conway Wampus Cats and the Fayetteville Bulldogs. We will look briefly at both teams and give a few keys to the game for each team.
Starting off with the visiting Wampus Cats. Coach Keith Fimple will look to get Manny Smith Manny Smith 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Conway | 2022 State AR going at the receiver, running back, and quarterback positions. Smith did a little bit of everything for the Conway offense last season and will look to start the 2021 season off well against a talented Fayetteville defense. Morrilton transfer Javion Ware Javion Ware 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Conway | 2022 State AR has the talent to stretch the field and he has the potential to be a factor on both sides of the ball for the Wampus Cats. Conway is going to attempt to mix the run and the pass and keeping an eye on West Boudreaux West Boudreaux 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Conway | 2022 State AR would be a great idea, the young man has excellent speed and can be a tough player to contain.
On the defensive side of the ball, Conway is faced with the task of trying to disrupt a talented Fayetteville offense led by quarterback Bladen Fike Bladen Fike 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR . The Conway secondary is going to lean heavily on defensive back Troy Wiseman Troy Wiseman 5'10" | 150 lbs | DB Conway | 2022 State AR and Jalen Wilson in the secondary. Both Wiseman and Wilson have the speed to contend with the Fayetteville receiving corps. Attempting to contain Fayetteville wide receive Isaiah Sategna Isaiah Sategna 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Fayetteville | 2022 State AR will not be easy. Containing quarterback Bladen Fike Bladen Fike 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR will prove difficult because of the number of targets in the receiving corps that he has.
Meanwhile, on the Fayetteville Bulldogs side of things. The Bulldogs offense has a number of weapons that the Wampus Cats defense will have to contain to win this game. Quarterback Bladen Fike Bladen Fike 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR is a quarterback that has tremendous accuracy and can throw into extremely small windows. Hayes Robinson Hayes Robinson 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Fayetteville | 2022 State AR , Isaiah Sategna Isaiah Sategna 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Fayetteville | 2022 State AR , and Jalen Blackburn Jalen Blackburn 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Fayetteville | 2022 State AR are all three wide receivers that have the potential to have big seasons for the Bulldogs. The offense has plenty of quick strike capability in the passing and the run game with Omar Murray Omar Murray 6'2" | 195 lbs | RB Fayetteville | 2024 State AR getting a chance to carry the load for the Bulldogs at the tailback spot.
Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, the Purple Dogs have plenty of talent as well. Fayetteville has three talented linebackers in the forms of Kaiden Turner Kaiden Turner 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR , Cade Fields Cade Fields 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR , and Mani Powell Mani Powell 6'2" | 230 lbs | LB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR . All three are extremely talented and all three have a nose for the football. In the secondary, Braelon Palmer Braelon Palmer 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR is a safety that can light up the ball carrier when given the opportunity. Ryan Maxwell Ryan Maxwell 5'8" | 155 lbs | DB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR at the cornerback position uses his hands extremely well to jam receivers at the line of scrimmage. Should Fayetteville get going on both sides of the ball this could be a difficult contest for the Wampus Cats.
