Braelyn Jay Braelyn Jay 5'10" | 165 lbs | ATH Campus | 2022 State KS – Campus, 5’10”, 165, ATH
The Colts are looking to rebound after a rough 2020 season, and Jay could be the key to their success offensively. He only appeared in five games last fall, but he made some exciting throws during that time. Jay is decisive with his decision making and has an accurate arm under pressure. Defenses need to account for him in the run game as well, because Jay can burn them with his 4.5 40 speed. He’ll be a dual-threat to keep an eye on this year.
Kaden Johnson Kaden Johnson 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Holcomb | 2022 State KS – Holcomb, 6’3”, 190, QB
Johnson will have a great shot at topping his numbers from last season with a majority of his weapons returning on offense. The 15th ranked quarterback in the Class of ’22 rankings was a 1st Team All-GWAC selection last fall and could potentially earn that honor once again this year. Johnson has looked sharp competing at multiple camps and combines throughout this summer. Expect for him to take another jump in his development during his third year starting.
Tavor Hunter Tavor Hunter 6'0" | 270 lbs | OL Wichita East | 2022 State KS – Wichita East, 6’0”, 270, OL
Hunter is going to be a fun offensive lineman to watch during the ’21 season. He played great during his junior year, earning All-League honors and an All-State Honorable Mention selection. Despite his success, he hasn’t received much attention from recruiters. His senior campaign should change this though. Hunter will be hungry to rack up some more pancakes this season and to help lead the Aces on another playoff run.
Dalton Hilyard Dalton Hilyard 5'11" | 170 lbs | ATH Douglass | 2022 State KS – Douglass, 6’0”, 170, ATH
Hilyard is a versatile hidden gem coming out of the 2A Division. He was the Bulldogs’ renaissance man during the 2020 season, leading the team in rushing with 848 yards and led them in total tackles as well with 67. This earned him a 1st Team All-Central Plains selection and an All-State Honorable Mention nod. Hilyard should once again be one of the top all-around players in the 2A ranks as a senior.
Max Middleton Max Middleton 5'11" | 180 lbs | RB Andover | 2022 State KS – Andover, 5’11”, 180, RB
All signs are pointing towards Middleton having a great senior year. He’s kept the momentum going after a strong junior campaign, putting together impressive performances during the offseason. Middleton was clocked in the 4.5 40 range multiple times while attending camps at the University of Central Missouri, and Emporia State. The speedy back is looking to eclipse 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons, and to pick up some offers along the way.
