Aaron Carl Aaron Carl 6'5" | 235 lbs | TE Galesburg | 2022 State IL Galesburg Twitter Highlights
Mr. Carl is from Galesburg, he stands at 6’5 240 and gets it done for his offensive unit. What I like most about this young man is his run blocking, he fires off the ball getting hands-on quickly and plays through the whistle pancaking the defender. That’s not to say that he can’t catch, once he secures the catch he plants his foot into the ground to turn upfield where he isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder to gain a few extra yards. He currently has two offers, one from Upper Iowa University and his most recent one from Olivet Nazarene University. I expect more to come his way once this fall season is concluded and I look forward to seeing how he produces this season.
Aleks Popovic Aleks Popovic 6'3" | 235 lbs | TE Lake Zurich | 2022 State IL Lake Zurich Twitter Highlights
Mr. Popovic is from Lake Zurich, he stands at 6’3 235 and has been visiting different universities this past month. He currently holds one offer from Grand Valley State University and has interest from a few others as well. What I like most about this young man is his ability to get upfield quickly after securing the catch, once he does this he isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder to run the defender over gaining a few extra yards. This young man also gets it done in the run game by getting hands-on quickly and playing through the whistle resulting in pancaking the defender. Overall, he’s someone to watch this fall season as he has untapped potential that has yet to come to light and I look forward to seeing how he produces.
Kai Rios Kai Rios 6'5" | 230 lbs | TE Rock Island | 2022 State IL Rock Island Twitter Highlights
Mr. Rios is from Rock Island, he stands at 6’5 240 and has two offers from McKendree University as well as Valparaiso University. He’s a young man, in my opinion, that is going to see his stock rise after this fall season and have more offers roll in. What I like most about this young man is his ability to get upfield after securing the catch and playing through the whistle when he’s run blocking which results in pancaking the defender. He also showed glimpses of his check & release which is an important trait to have as a tight end. If your school is looking for a tight end that can get it done in both the run and passing attack go take a look at his highlight tape above to see if he’s the right fit for your program.
Finn Cohan Finn Cohan 6'5" | 225 lbs | TE New Trier | 2022 State IL Twitter Highlights
Mr. Cohn is from New Trier, he stands at 6’5 230 and holds an offer from Valparaiso University. He only played 2 games this past spring season and showcased what he can do. What I like most about this young man is his ability to get upfield after securing the catch and washing the defensive line down when run blocking. He also showed glimpses of his check & release as well. There seems to be a trend here between this young man and Kai Rios Kai Rios 6'5" | 230 lbs | TE Rock Island | 2022 State IL , both of whom have offers from Valparaiso University, on what Valparaiso football is looking for in their tight ends. All of this being said, this young man will have more offers come his way once he gets the full falls season under his belt as he has the talent to play at the next level. If your school is looking for a tight end that can get it done in both the pass and ground attack go take a look at his highlight tape above, you don’t want to miss out on this recruit while he’s still flying under the radar.
Jack DiSano Jack DiSano 6'4" | 240 lbs | TE Glenbrook South | 2022 State IL Glenbrook South Twitter Highlights
Mr. DiSano is from Glenbrook South, he stands at 6’4 235, and currently holds no offers. What I like most about this young man is his ability to delay release and catch a bullet pass right as he gets a few yards downfield. Those catches are in between multiple defenders and he hangs onto the ball after taking hits. He can also block in the running game where he fires off the ball washing the defensive line down and plays through the whistle pancaking the defender in the process. This young man still has room to develop further and hone his craft, keep an eye on how he does this fall season.
Tyler Dwinal Tyler Dwinal 6'4" | 235 lbs | TE Normal | 2022 State IL Normal Community Twitter Highlights
Mr. Dwinal is from Normal Community, he stands at 6’4 225 and holds an offer from Loras College. What I like most about this young man are his pass-catching abilities. He’s able to get upfield quickly after securing the catch and once he does so he isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder to break arm tackles by playing through contact. This young man is also able to find the soft spot in the defense in between multiple defenders for an easy completion. I see Mr. Dwinal more as a passing tight end that can be a big target for his QB at the next level. With that being said, I look forward to seeing how he produces this fall and where he ends up in college.
Evan King Evan King 6'4" | 225 lbs | TE Tinley Park | 2022 State IL Tinley Park Twitter Highlights
Mr. King is from Tinley Park, he stands at 6’4 230 and currently holds no offers. He’s listed as a TE but took snaps at QB during this past spring season. With that being said, he showed characteristics in his game that transition smoothly to the TE position. These include his ability to scramble with the ball translating to run after the catch, breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving, and not being afraid to lower his shoulder/being able to take a hit. Whichever position he ends up playing this fall, it’s going to be a sight to see and one to watch. If your school is looking for a receiving tight end with good size take a look at his highlight above where you can see his skillset transition into that position at the next level.
These are some of the Preseason Names to Watch at the TE position for the class of 2022. Keep an eye on these young men as they get ready to put the pads on.
