These guys are looking for break out years this season with some of them coming into their junior season and others being seniors. Most of them have either small scale offers or no offers, but I see this changing very quickly. This group can make small plays into touchdowns, and are looking to take their team to the next level. We are going to look at each player’s skill set and lookout for this upcoming season.
Will Anciaux Will Anciaux 6'6" | 225 lbs | TE Kapaun Mt. Carmel | 2023 State KS – TE – Kapun Mt. Carmel – 6’6″ 220lbs – Will is a class of 2023 player with huge outlook moving into this next season. Only being a junior this upcoming year he has a huge future ahead of him. With great size for tight ends he plays extremely physical. He has solid blocking skills and a quick release which makes him a very tricky player to defend. He also has great speed for his size and he outruns most linebackers and some safeties. The safeties that do run with him though he plays above the them with his height and jump ball abilities. Will can quickly become one of the most sought after prospects in next years class.
Randall Bell – WR – Northwest – 6’0″ 185lbs – Randall is a very versatile player with big play ability. He has excellent speed which makes him a huge threat with the ball in his hands. He could turn a 3 yard gain into a 50 yard touchdown in a blink of an eye. He also possesses the ability to play QB and makes solid reads while playing. He can turn into one of the biggest players in the area this year.
Cade Friend – WR – Eisenhower – 6’1″ 180lbs – Cade is an excellent receiver and going to be a big time player this year for the Tigers. He has very clean crisp routes and the ability to make tough catches. He has some of the best route running in the area along with above average speed makes it near impossible to defend in man to man coverage. His ability to create separation makes him gain yards after the catch opportunities. Recently picking up an offer from Tabor and Bethel this is only the beginning for this young receiver.
Drake Thatcher Drake Thatcher 6'4" | 200 lbs | TE Derby | 2022 State KS – TE – Derby – 6’4″ 200lbs – Here is another tight end with great playmaking abilities. With that size he becomes a very versatile player. He outruns linebackers and is bigger than safeties. He flexes out to receiver on some plays with his solid route running it makes him difficult to guard inside the numbers. When he gets into the redzone his big body makes him an easy target for his quarterbacks. He is also a good blocker in the run game as well, which makes his release tricky for defenses. He is looking to be a huge part of the Panthers season this year.
Caquoy Patterson Caquoy Patterson 5'7" | 155 lbs | WR Wichita East | 2022 State KS – WR – Wichita East – 5’7″ 155lbs – This receiver may be undersized but he is extremely fast and has breakaway speed. With his solid double move routes combined with that speed he is a premier playmaker this upcoming season for Wichita East. His run after catch ability makes him hard to defend. He is lethal with the ball in his hands and can make anyone miss. His best asset is his speed and he knows how to use it. There constantly needs to be a safety over the top.
