Continue ReadingAs the start of the Alabama high school football season approaches, we will look at under-the-radar prospects for the class of 2022. With COVID19 behind us, this football season is wide open. This first installment of the series will look at five prospects from across the state that I think could have a standout season in 2021. After watching film on each player, we will grade each player on a scale of 1-5. Five being equivalent to a “baller” and one of our top dogs.
Braylon Mcreynolds: McGill Toolen – RB
Don’t let his size fool you. He may be smaller than most running backs but he runs BIG! Built like Michel Dyer, he is tough to bring down. Quick, elusive, shifty, he can do a lot of damage to defenses Definitely need to keep this guy on your board for the 2021 season. His Twitter is @bama3x_. Give him a follow and check him out. I give him a grade of 4.
Luke Reebals: Briarwood Christian – RB
At 5’11 and 185 lbs, he is one of the toughest kids I have seen play in person. Very elusive, fast, and good vision. Can cut on a dime and will make defenses pay. During the 2020 season, facing a very tough region in 6A, Reebals accumulated 1,156 rushing yards on 130 carries and 2013 all-purpose yards. This is definitely an under-the-radar guy who will impress in 2021. His Twitter is @lreebals, go give him a look. I give him a grade of 4.
Ryan Shoop: Hewitt Trussville – WR
Ryan is a guy who seems to catch everything thrown at him. His 6’4 frame allows him to cath with what seems like ease. he has good hands, good feet, and able to get good separation from the defender and will also make a catch in heavy traffic. He’s a tall kid with long arms. He weighs in right around 185-190. He has good concentration and a good feel for the game and where the ball is. His Twitter is @ryanshoop17. I give him a grade of 4.
Jaden Lawson: Mobile Christian – CB/FS
ATHLETE. Jaden is very athletic and can cover a lot of ground very quickly. He will find the ball and make the play whether in the backfield or in the secondary. Although this guy is 5’11, 169lbs, he is a BALLER. He was voted All-State DB in Alabama in 2020. This is a guy you definitely should follow on Twitter, @jadenl0783. I give him a solid grade of 4.
Sean Parnell: Saks High School – QB
Sean is a solid quarterback with good mechanics that match that of Cam Newton. He’s a lefty with good vision and movement in the pocket. He’s a very solid player, and from everything I have learned, a solid guy as well. Loves the game, and wants to continue to learn. He’s a good-sized QB at 6’2, 196lbs. Follow this guy, @seanparnell14, and keep an eye on Saks this season. I give this guy a well-deserved grade of 4 – 4.5.
We are a month away from the kickoff of the high school football season here in the state of Alabama. These five guys have the potential to break out this year and have outstanding seasons. I look forward to following their progress and any more information we get on them, we will make sure to put out the information.
Friday nights under the lights is a great place to be. See you there!
