It’s not different with the special players on the 2021 team. The development has to be credited to the players hard work and also the great coaching staffs that the team has had for the last 15+ years. Here is some of the most impressive King players on the 2021 roster from both the class of 2022 and 2023.
Dante Moore Dante Moore 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Detroit King | 2023 State MI
Moore has quickly made himself an elite recruit after an impressive sophomore season with King. He has great touch on the football which makes things easier for his teammates. He has the poise to stay in the pocket and deliver dimes or scramble and make something out of nothing. He remains uncommitted but the quarterback has a whopping 26 offers to his resume, which should grow as the season grows closer.

Lynn Wyche-El Lynn Wyche-El 5'9" | 165 lbs | WR Detroit King | 2022 State MI
The speedy wideout has himself some impressive offers, including schools like Washington and Kentucky. Showing growth every season, Wyche-El is set to have a big senior season. He was ranked the 13th best player in the state by Prep Redzone, and if you watch his film it’s easy to see why. He has great stop start ability and shows a lot of fluidity in and out of his cuts. With a big Senior season, he should double his offers and be a top ten player in the state.

Terence Maize Terence Maize 5'11" | 290 lbs | DL Detroit King | 2022 State MI
Maize excels on the defensive front for King, showing promising size and strength on the inside. For his size, Maize has some athleticism that college recruiters should value highly. The defensive tackle has offers from schools like Davenport and Northwood, with many more to come. He’s currently the 59th ranked player in the state for the Class of 2022 and should continue to shoot up the boards. Maize has an elite first step matched up with impressive instincts that really carry his game forward.

Johnathan Slack Johnathan Slack 6'3" | 260 lbs | OL Detroit King | 2023 State MI
With 13 division one offers to his name, Slack’s rise has been impressive to say the least. Protecting his quarterbacks blindside, Slack has some smooth foot work and powerful striking ability to back it up. His size allows him to slide inside at the next level or stay on the outside as an offensive tackle. Either way, Slack is set for a huge junior season in 2021.

Jameel Croft Jameel Croft 6'1" | 165 lbs | DB Detroit King | 2023 State MI
Croft is arguably the most impressive two way player in the class of 2023. He has incredible foot work and great range as a defensive back while being able to separate on the other side of the ball as a wideout. It’s obvious he uses his experience on one side of the ball to help out at the other position, which is a positive sign on the mental side of things. A smart and instinctive player, Croft has six offers to his name at the moment with more to come.

Kenny Merrieweather Kenny Merrieweather 6'3" | 245 lbs | DL Detroit King | 2023 State MI
Merrieweather is a name to watch for the future. The class of 2023 wide receiver has athleticism that you covet at the position along with good football smarts. He seems to be in the right place at the right time for his quarterback, and can read defenses well. He currently has an offer from Kentucky and Syracuse and should have more as we progress into the 2021 season. The Junior athlete has a lot of raw ability to help mold his game for the future. His size will be something to watch, as he can overpower defensive backs for the ball.
