These events are made to showcase talent from across the mid west, and get these players in front of a very solid division two football program. This camp was absolutely loaded with talent, with a ton of this talent coming from right here in Kansas. There were athletes from all over the state, and several players from this camp received offers after preforming well at this event. Today, we will start with the position group I believed had a loaded session, the big boys up front. Here is a look at my standout lineman from Kansas in session one of the camp.
Dalton Owen Dalton Owen 6'4" | 290 lbs | OL Concordia | 2022 State KS – Concordia, KS- At six foot, three inches tall, and a solid 297 pounds, Owen has some great size and is very explosive when it’s time to put that hand in the dirt. What makes Owen stand out is not just his size and power, but his quickness and fast reaction time. At this event, he ran a 5.3 40 yard dash which is very solid for a lineman of his size and age. A multi-sport athlete, watch for Dalton this upcoming season to attract some serious attention not just due to his size, but his overall athletic ability to match.
Drew Daniels– Andover, KS- An all-state selection last year for Andover Central, Drew Daniels shows his talent every time he steps on a football field. Listed at 6’2″ and 270 pounds, Daniels has the size and ability to play at the next level. Daniels pure talent and understanding of the game is what makes him stand out from the pack. Daniels is another player to watch this year pick up some more offers and attention from colleges!
Lonnie Reed– Bishop Miege High School- An outstanding lineman for the Bishop Miege Stags, Reed stood out early due to his size, strength and very quick first steps. The fact that Reed is only a junior this upcoming season, is a little scary for opposing coaches. I expect over the next year or so, Reed will be getting a ton of looks from colleges. At 6’2″, 375 pounds, Reed has explosiveness in his lower half that all coaches want to see. His quick first step stands out in every drill, rep, or snap he does. Watch for Reed to climb up boards over the next 18 months.
Kaden Fields Kaden Fields 6'5" | 295 lbs | DL Osawatomie | 2022 State KS – Osawatomie, KS- Fields has drawn attention to himself before this camp, due to being listed at 6’5″ and 280 pounds and having the speed to run a 5.6 40 yard dash. Fields has the size and ability to translate to the next level of football, and it stands out when he is competing. His very explosive first step, as well as his tremendous ability to use his hands as a defensive lineman, make him a very dangerous player anywhere on the line.
