With the big names already deciding on schools as well as some of the underrated talent finally getting offers, this summer has been a blast to scout the football talent in Michigan. Throughout my scouting process, I try and make fair evaluations based on performance and college recognition. That being said, this class has so much of it that I struggled making a rankings list of LESS than 200 players. Players that were placed on the watch list could very well be ranked in the next wave of updates and it should be a fun journey towards the next one in the season.
After reviewing my notes from the July update of the rankings, I’m pleased to showcase some of the names that I was particularly drawn to in the film room. Here are some of those notes on this months update of the rankings:
Christian Rapley Christian Rapley 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Belleville | 2022 State MI gets the #4 spot
A feature on Prep Redzone Michigan’s ‘Freak List’, Rapley has been heavily recruited so far, with 10 offers from mostly division one schools including Kentucky and Central Michigan. His growth throughout his career has been evident and it’s expected that he has a big 2021 season for Belleville. He’s explosive on the outside and has that 6’1 reach that makes him physically gifted when it comes to jump balls.

Brady Masterson Brady Masterson 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Lapeer | 2022 MI cracks the top 100
Masterson is a player who has been intriguing during summer scouting. The 6’1, 206 pound linebacker plays with an edge of nastiness and has great form in his tackles. With more growth during the 2021 season, look out for some big scholarship offers in the near future.
Ka’Marii Landers Ka’Marii Landers 6'4" | 290 lbs | OL Fordson | 2022 State MI top rated OL
Landers is the top rated offensive line in most scouts book and it’s not a surprise. He is dominant at the point of attack and has great technique with his feet and hands that puts him over the top. He’s pound for pound one of the more talented lineman that the state of Michigan has had in the last few years and it will be exciting to see how he progresses in his senior campaign.

Mike DePillo Mike DePillo 6'5" | 200 lbs | QB Clarkston | 2022 State MI top rated QB
Quarterback talent in football in general is coveted, but especially at the high school level. That’s why Clarkston must enjoy having DePillo on their football team. The 6’6 quarterback has a dynamic skillset at the quarterback position, with a big arm and solid mechanics that should be enticing for college recruiters. With only one division one offer from Central Michigan, there will be a lot of schools monitoring his season with Clarkston in 2021.
Mohammed Hazime Mohammed Hazime 6'5" | 225 lbs | TE Fordson | 2022 State MI top rated TE
There’s nothing more satisfying than watching a big tight end who has a complete game. Hazime is that guy for Fordson and much more. He has a big frame at 6’5 that helps him compete for jump balls as well as making him a ferocious blocker in the run game. He has an impressive list of MAC offers currently, including the 2020 MAC Champion Ball State Cardinals and Western Michigan. With more targets and a great summer circuit, look out for Hazime as he cements his place as the best tight end in Michigan.
Had a great visit at Ball State! Thank you @CoachMckenzie95 and the rest of the coaching staff! #GoCardinals pic.twitter.com/W4A2kmrcpb
