- Stone Blanton Stone Blanton 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Madison-Ridgeland Academy | 2022 State MS , the stud LB from Madison-Ridgeland Academy, has had a huge week. The two way star (baseball) has now officially cut his college destination down to three choices: Mississippi State, Texas A&M and South Carolina. In addition to that decision this week Blanton was also named to the Butkus Award Watchlist. Blanton will be able to showcase his abilities nationwide when MRA hosts Oakland (TN) on August 28th at 2:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
- Branson Robinson Branson Robinson 5'11" | 220 lbs | RB Germantown | 2022 State MS , RB from Germantown, has been a consensus Top 5 player in the state since the creation of PRZ MS. Robinson didn’t surprise anyone when he announced last week that he was taking his talents to Athens, GA with Coach Kirby Smart. Robinson has MS Player of the Year potential.
- Another top defensive lineman in the state, Bryson Hurst Bryson Hurst 6'6" | 320 lbs | OL Gautier | 2022 State MS , out of Gautier cut his college destination list to 7 this week: Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Auburn, Kentucky, Oregon, Florida State and UCF.
- While looking at the class of 2022, 2 names are gaining a lot of new traction currently: Aquarius Winston Jr. of Southaven and Jacob Williams of Ocean Springs. Winston is a true Safety projection with obvious length and closing speed on the football. The Southaven SR sees the field well and produces in both coverage and run defense. A good feel for the game is present in Winston. Williams is efficient as a LB, especially laterally but finds his worth as a long-snapper. Snaps show true velocity while Williams then manages the ability to get down field and make tackles effectively.
- Two 2023 names that are currently heating up: D’Mariun Perteet of South Panola and John Slaughter John Slaughter 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Southaven | 2023 State MS of Southaven. At RB, Perteet now holds two Power 5 offers, one from Arkansas and the other recently coming from Arizona. Perteet fits the mold of a South Panola RB. Athletic build, true speed, loose hips that allow him to change direction and vision ahead. Expect a big 2021 campaign with him. At nearly 6″3, Slaughter has incredibly size at DB and that has been noticed as now Mississippi State has extended an offer to join Ole Miss and Tennessee in the recruiting battle. Slaughter is a smart FB player who knows how to get into the correct position. As he increases agility and technique off the snap his game will grow. Both Slaughter and Perteet have the chance to be among the best in the state for the Class of 2023.
