The State of Indiana is rapidly growing in popularity as recruits begin to become bigger and better. We’re taking a quick look at some of the guys letting the Hoosier State shine through.
[player_tooltip player_id="39070" first="Drayk" last="Bowen"] - LB - Andrean - 6’2" 215 lbs
Bowen is a man amongst boys. He has an NFL frame and body. Bowen is known for his speed and hard-hitting playstyle. He has a physical approach to the game and that is the first thing that stands out when you turn on the tape.
The 5-star recruit has offers from just about every school imaginable. He has offers from Notre Dame, Clemson, and Auburn. The betting odds, if there were to be any, is that he stays in his home state and plays for the Fighting Irish
[player_tooltip player_id="106965" first="Trevor" last="Lauck"] - OL - Concalli - 6’6" 265 lbs
When you think of how to build a tackle in a lab, Lauck is the prototype you build around. He has massive hands and once he latches onto you it’s all but over. He bends well for a man his size and has NFL-level potential.
He’s sitting on offers from Kentucky, Purdue, and Michigan State. His recruitment remains open. He’s only taken 1 visit and it was to Michigan State. They are the front runners at the moment but that could change.
[player_tooltip player_id="106955" first="Aycen" last="Stevens"] - ATH - Decatur Central - 6’4" 200 lbs
Stevens is listed as an ATH in some spots because of how diverse he can be. He plays QB and LB. He runs the offense and defense. I think his best future is at LB and so do some of the schools that have offered him.
He’s doing his due diligence with his recruiting. He recently visited Tennesee last week. He’s also been to Cincinnati and Iowa State in the past month. His decision may come down to his senior year as more offers come in.
[player_tooltip player_id="39066" first="Caleb" last="Marcus"] - RB - Brownsburg - 5’10" 180 lbs
Marcus is an interesting prospect because of how light on his feet he is. He has some of the quickest feet you will see and because of how well-trained they are he can get himself out of some bad spots. His ability to change the game for his team is big.
Right now his recruitment seems to have slowed down some. As we get more information we can come back and fill in the gaps as we figure out his future.
[player_tooltip player_id="107277" first="Carson" last="Parmer"] - QB - South Decatur - 6’3" 195
Parmer is a multi-sport star for South Decatur. On the football field, he’s got a really good feel for the game. He plays very naturally and instictive. He stands tall and strong in the pocket and plays with the same no-emotion style no matter what.
Right now his college offers are just local schools in the Indianapolis area. He may go play college basketball because he has the talent and the offers but he also has football coaches’ interest throughout the country.
