They ended the season with a 6-5 record, making the playoffs for the first time in school history. The Tigers showed much offensive firepower last season, putting up almost 42 points per game, while running an average of 328 yards per game. The offense produced two 1,000 yard rushers with a third only 17 yards off of the mark.
Coach Rogers has this team and program heading in the right direction, showing progression every season. This year, the Tigers see 11 defensive players and 10 offensive players returning, with many playing both ways. The Tigers have an amazing core to work around and who all have valuable experience on the field. They have shown development and have many players in the spotlight of recruiting. Coach Rogers will have his team ready to fight and compete this upcoming season so expect the Cypress Park Tigers to be a serious threat when the season starts.

The top linebacker in the nation leads the way for the Cypress Park Tigers on both sides of the ball. He is heading into his senior year ready to lay it on the line and knows that all eyes will be on him. Perkins production offensively and defensive are astounding, and the talent his teammates bring to the table make the Tigers a very dangerous team. Perkins was a First Team All-District selection at both running back and linebacker. His leadership will be key, and it will be exciting to see how he comes out to the start the season.
OLB/WR Owen Pewee Owen Pewee 6'3" | 190 lbs | LB Cypress Park | 2022 State TX – 50 Tackles, 3 Pass Breakups, 1 INT, 1 Forced Fumble, 266 Receiving Yards, 3 Receiving TDs
Pewee was a First Team All-District selection at linebacker and still has room to grow. He is a talented athlete who is quick off of the edge and is an excellent tackler. Pewee is a major threat rushing the passer and is untouchable with a great get off. He will be called upon to be even better than what he was last season, but he is capable of doing so. Pewee is and will be a huge part to the teams success.
RB/LB Nathan Livingston – 1,124 Rushing Yards, 17 Rushing TDs, 179 Receiving Yards, 4 Receiving TDs
Livingston was a First Team All-District selection last season as well. He is a strong runner, capable of breaking off long gains for touchdowns. Livingston was the second leading rusher while being first in rushing touchdowns in a busy backfield. We should expect Livingston to be stronger and faster heading into his last year and ready to leave his mark.
RB/DB Cameron King – 1,169 Rushing Yards, 15 Rushing TDs, 255 Receiving Yards, 4 Receiving TDs
King returns as the leading rusher of the high powered offense. King was electric every time the ball touched his hands and made an impact in all phases of the game. He is the final piece of the three headed monster in the backfield. King is a player who does not disappoint and is a player coaches can rely on to give the team a boost. His speed, quickness, and flat out skills are something to watch. King should get a lot of attention for this season and will be another key factor in the teams success.
LB Christopher Gilbreath – 77 Tackles, 6 TFLs, 3 Sacks, 3 Pass Breakups
Gilbreath was the leading tackler and manned the middle for Tigers defense. He was great in pursuit and was a solid tackler last season. Gilbreath showed great promise and potential throughout the season and will be looked to be even better this upcoming season. He will have to be a defensive leader and lead by example, and make plays consistently.
