He understands that when it comes to recruiting and finding colleges for his student/athlete, the choices are often smaller schools that provides much more than a career on the football field.
What the Warriors have in this program are student/athletes. Talented young men who in this environment to learn – both on and off the playing field – and the team GPA of well over 3.0 will certainly back that up.
Programs like Seven Rivers have proven that they do belong on the same football field with other schools who have been getting plenty of recognition.
Coming off a 4-5 season during a pandemic year, the Warriors learned a lot – in losses to Deltona Trinity Christian, Springhill Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, Vero Beach St. Edward’s, Mayo Lafayette and Jacksonville Bishop Snyder. But there was plenty that benefitted this team in wins.
Those victories over Lakeland Santa Fe Catholic, Ocala Christian and Leesburg First Academy went a long way in giving this program plenty of optimism, heading into the 2021 season.
If the Warriors are going to showcase the talent they have to colleges, it will start with the senior class.
Class of 2022 standouts Mario Auilera (WR/PK, 5-10, 150 – 3.73 GPA, 1020 PSAT), Carmelo Cordero (RB/DB, 5-8, 155 – 3.4 GPA, 1150 PSAT) and versatile lineman Jon Gill (6-5, 300 – 910 PSAT) will be prospects to keep an eye – especially this off-season, when camps and showcase events will keep them in the spotlight.
UNDERCLASSMEN HAVE BEEN READY TO GO
After the spring and heading into the summer, it’s the Class of 2023 (juniors) who are anxious to get started. Led by Brent Summers (Athlete, 6-0, 160 – 3.5 GPA) and the coach’s son, Nehemiah Vann (QB, 6-1, 165 – 4.3 GPA – 1230 PSAT), this is a very gifted duo that will continue to provide the spark needed.
Class of 2024 (sophomores) will also be a huge help to the Warriors. Players such as Kamryn Johnson (OL/DL, 6-4, 255), Carson DeBeer (OL/LB, 6-0, 205 – 4.2 GPA, 1080 PSAT) and two-way standout Nathan Tidwell (WR/DE, 6-1, 175 – 2.55 GPA) will all boost this team – along with some incoming varsity 2025 (freshmen) players.
