As Darren Hartje-Nelson began the summer, his objective was to find football players who wanted to put this program back on the map.
To accomplish any building process these days – anywhere in the country – the task is creating an environment where the student/athletes are having fun, being taught and getting the chance to have colleges watch them perform.
The days of not attending as many college-oriented camps are over – and coaches like Hartje-Nelson realize that.
Playing off of wins against Cape Coral twice and Arcadia DeSoto, the Wildcats feel optimistic about the senior class, which has started to learn more and more.
Among those 2022 prospects to keep an eye are Kendrick Agenor (RB, 5-10, 195 – 3.29 GPA), Josue Arizmendi (OLB, 5-10, 185), Will Cajuste (OL, 6-3, 240 – 3.48 GPA), Jose Hernandez (LB/FB, 5-7, 200 – 2.87 GPA), Kaleb Roth (WR/CB, 6-2, 165), Karson Starling (WR, 6-2, 190 – 3.5 GPA) and versatile Kirk Talley (QB/Athlete, 5-10, 160 – 2.5 GPA).
UNDERCLASSMEN ARE READY TO CONTRIBUTE
If this program is going to make some noise into the future, they will need to get some productivity from the junior (2023) class -with prospects such as Jason Duclona (WR/CB, 6-2, 180 – 3.62 GPA), Matt Monteagudo (OL, 6-2, 265), Chad Perrigo (OL/DL, 6-0, 245) and two-way standout Jacob Vail (WR/DB, 5-10, 150).
The Wildcats are also strong in the 2024 class – with Luke Graham (QB/DB, 5-11, 150), Logan Hobot (OLB, 6-1, 160), Kyle King (WR/DB, 5-11, 160), Mason Palkovic (FB/DL, 6-0, 205), Evan Vrable (FB/DL, 6-0, 195), Jake Wilson (TE/DL, 6-2, 190) and Matt Wilson Matt Wilson 5'9" | 185 lbs | RB Boca Raton St. John Paul | 2023 FL (QB/LB, 6-2, 185).
