Kids are getting stronger and faster each year, and even some of the state’s top programs are seeing underclassmen start to see action sooner and sooner. The 2024 class is on the rise and have multiple offensive players on the verge of a breakout year. Some have already earned D1 offers while others might see their recruitment take off this summer. Either way, it’s a very talented class and we should start seeing more 2024 prospects emerge across the state over the next few months.
Here are a few 2024 offensive players who are headed towards big seasons this fall…
Debron Gatling Debron Gatling 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Milton | 2024 State GA – Milton
One of the hottest prospects in the state, Gatling is coming off an excellent spring game for the high-powered Milton Eagles where he scored three touchdowns. He played more and more as the 2020 season went on last year and found a way to make a big impact for a freshman. Senior QB Devin Farrell Devin Farrell 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Milton | 2022 State GA will be looking for another playmaker on offense this year, and Gatling, even as a sophomore, could turn into one of the team’s biggest offensive weapons. He has great size for his age at 6-foot-2 180-pounds and already knows how to run a crisp route and create separation. The playmaking wide-out already holds offers from Georgia, Ole Miss, FSU, among others. Look for Gatling to possibly push for 5-star status down the road in his class. More offers are expected to come his way as well over the next few months and into his sophomore season.

Joseph Stone – Grayson
The mighty Grayson Rams will be looking for someone to replace last year’s leading rusher Phil Mafah Phil Mafah 6'1" | 213 lbs | RB Grayson | 2021 State GA , and many at Grayson feel that Stone could be that player. He’s had a big week already on the recruiting trail, adding offers from Arkansas and Boston College in the last 48 hours. He didn’t play a ton as a freshman, but he’s having an outstanding offseason and shows impressive athleticism for someone his size. He also shows some explosiveness and knows how to make defenders miss in the open field. He has true “football speed” and just moves different with the ball in his hands. As a sophomore this fall, Stone will be used as a important weapon on offense as he’ll be lining up at both RB and WR. Stone also holds offers from Georgia, Florida State, and Minnesota. He may be young, but Stone has a chance to have a breakout sophomore season for the state’s reigning 7A champs.

Zion Ragins Zion Ragins 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Jones County | 2024 State GA – Jones County
One of the the fastest prospects in the state, the young freshman from Middle Georgia is an absolute blue on the football field and an explosive playmaker at wide receiver. The track star claims a 4.31 40-yard dash and is coming off a state championship performance in the GHSA track and field meet earlier this month. Ragins won the 5A state championship in both the 100 and 200 meter dash. He might be one of the fastest players in the state, but he’s more than that. Ragins is a football player who makes an impact with more than his speed. Ragins has great hands, can change directions with ease, and shows great body control when going for the football. In their spring game last week, Ragins caught three passes for 74 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed the ball four times for 17 yards. He’ll be a prospect to know about for the next three years and he already holds offers from Georgia.
He does it all & he’s only a freshman 👀
