Before I introduce the top 10, a note on how I scout. For each player, I give a projected level of college football (Ranging from Division II/III to Power Five) and then give strengths and areas of improvement relative to other prospects at that level and that age. Most of these players are projected Power Five players, as is expected from the top guys in the class.
10. Javon Cowan Javon Cowan 5'10" | 185 lbs | ATH Triton | 2024 State NC , 5’10 170, Athlete- Triton
Scouting Report: Cowan had some of the best 2-way production of anybody in the state. He doesn’t posses elite measurables in terms of speed and size but he’s a smart player. He’s always in the right place to make a play and as a running back he displayed shiftiness in open field. He takes good angles on both sides of the ball leading to extra yards on offense and more big plays on defense.
9. Zack Myers, 6’2 190, WR- Christ School
Scouting Report: Myers is a versatile, athletic 2-way player that projects as an FBS receiver. He’s a high-academic, high-character player who re-classified after 2019 true freshman season. He has good size and speed and offers a lot with his ability to catch the ball in traffic.
8. Jake Simmons Jake Simmons 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB North Surry | 2024 State NC , 5’11 185, RB- North Surry
Scouting Report: Simmons is a shifty back with great burst who can run through arm tackles without losing forward momentum. Athletically, he puts up great testing numbers with strength, speed and lateral quickness. Going forward, I’d like to see him get to display some diversity in the running game as most of his yardage has come on inside zone handoffs.
7. Anthony Quinn Jr., 5’11 185, RB- Seventy First
Scouting Report: Quinn is a promising young back with great vision and balance. He doesn’t yet possess elite speed but he knows how to run and rarely gets caught from behind. He will almost always falls forward for extra yardage. He’s rarely asked to catch ball out of backfield but has the tools to produce yards after the catch.
6. Tyler Green Tyler Green 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Cabarrus Warriors | 2024 State NC , 6’2 180, QB- Cabarrus Warriors
Scouting Report: Part of the co-op Cabarrus Warriors program, Green has the look of a future FBS quarterback. He has good arm strength and throws a good deep ball. He tends to elongate his throwing motion when trying to get extra zip on the ball, but moves well in the pocket and doesn’t lose accuracy or throwing power when throwing on the run.
