Bettendorf – Tynan Numkena Tynan Numkena 6'2" | 205 lbs | WR Bettendorf | 2022 State IA (WR) Class of 2022 Hudl Twitter
Tynan is a versatile receiver with a good ability at finding the open field. He is a great route runner and uses his frame to make contested catches. Tynan was utilized in a plethora of plays. He has good ball carrier moves and can make opposing tacklers miss. Tynan Numkena Tynan Numkena 6'2" | 205 lbs | WR Bettendorf | 2022 State IA had 336 Receiving Yards, 4 Touchdowns, and 28 Receptions and has interest from a couple of Division One schools and multiple high-level Division Two schools. If Tynan improves on speed and explosiveness, there is no doubt he will receive an offer from a Division One team.
Iowa City West – CO MVP – Liam Bechers (OL) and Mason Applegate Mason Applegate 6'0" | 200 lbs | RB Iowa City West | 2022 State IA (DE) Class of 2022 Hudl Hudl (Liam Bechers) Twitter
Sadly, the Marcus Morgan Marcus Morgan 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Iowa City West | 2021 IA show is over at Iowa City West, but this school has some promise in the trenches. Star linemen Mason Applegate Mason Applegate 6'0" | 200 lbs | RB Iowa City West | 2022 State IA and Liam Bechers lead the way for the next season, and I am interested to see if Iowa City West changes up its schemes. Mason produced well on the defensive side for the Trojans and will continue to do so next season. He’s a quick defensive end who is athletic for his position. A solid tackler as well, Mason showed flashes of being able to out power offensive linemen. Mason put up 32.5 Tackles, 19 Solo Tackles, 2 Sacks, and 12.5 Tackles for Loss.
Pleasant Valley – Barrett Lindmark Barrett Lindmark 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Pleasant Valley | 2022 State IA (QB) Class of 2022 Hudl Twitter
Pleasant Valley is coming off a great season! They made it to the dome and did it with an elite defense. There is no reason they should miss the dome next season while having access to a player like Barrett Lindmark Barrett Lindmark 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Pleasant Valley | 2022 State IA . I have said it before, and I will say it again: having a returning QB is one of the biggest benefits a team can have going into a new season. Barrett has a good arm and has above-average mobility. He had 10 Passing Touchdowns, 783 Passing Yards, 8 Rushing Touchdowns, 666 Rushing Yards, 6.3 Yards Per Carry. I am excited to see how Pleasant Valley does next season, especially with Barrett returning.
Davenport Central – Nate Hummel (LB/QB) Class of 2022
Nate Hummel played QB for Davenport Central, running the ball as much as he passed. Nate ran for 554 Rushing Yards, 5 Touchdowns, and 5.7 Yards Per Carry. Passing-wise, he had 592 Passing Yards, 2 Touchdowns, 54.1 Completion Percentage, and threw five interceptions. He showed flashes of a strong arm and made some quality reads pre-snap. Nate is a decent ball carrier, as well. I see him being given a heavy workload this next season and expect him to be the key to the offense.
Davenport North – Dominic Wiseman Dominic Wiseman 6'2" | 270 lbs | DL Davenport North | 2022 State IA (DL) Class of 2022
Without a doubt, Dominic is the MVP of his team! He is beast on the line and a game-breaking defensive lineman. One of the most physical players in Iowa, Dominic moves blockers at will and shuts down running lanes. He is explosive off the snap and is quick with his moves. Dominic is getting the hype this season, and it’s well deserved. He will continue to dominate and will most likely get more offers at the Division One level. Dominic learns from the best line coach in the state: JC Moreau.
Iowa City High – Gable Mitchell (ATH) Class of 2022
Sadly, I could not find any Hudl film for Gable, but stat-wise he provides the proof I need to consider him the MVP for next season. Gable played offensive and defense and was a heavy contributor on both sides. On the offensive side, Gable had 285 Receiving Yards and 3 Receiving Touchdowns, along with 1 Rushing Touchdown. Gable had 41.5 Tackles and 29 Solo Tackles on the defensive end – all accomplished with only six games last season.
That wraps up Group Four! Next part will be Group Five consisting of Southeast Polk, Cedar Rapids Prairie, Linn-Mar, Waterloo West, Cedar Rapids Jefferson, and Ottumwa.
