Finishing 4-5 on the field in 2020, the Falcons used each and every game to pave the way for a brighter future.
Losses to St. Petersburg Catholic, Seminole, St. Petersburg Northeast, Hudson and Palm Harbor University, got the underclassmen experience – and at the same time, set the tone for this spring and into the summer.
While the pandemic was certainly a major obstacle, what it all comes down to how much this program learned – and that will be the difference in taking another positive step this coming season.
RISING SENIORS ARE READY TO MAKE AN IMPACT
As the Class of 2022 (rising seniors) gets ready for their leadership position and using the experience they have picked up, there are several prospects ready to go.
Among those players to keep an eye on include Jacob Dimilta (WR/DB, 5-9, 140), Daniel Galarza (WR/LB, 5-10, 170 – 3.18 GPA, 1200 SAT), Shane Glover (TE/LB, 5-11, 190 – 2.5 GPA, 18 ACT), Tyler Hirschmann (WR/DB, 5-9, 135), Connor Kremske (OL/DL, 5-9, 237 – 3.7, 20 ACT), Lance Miller (RB/DB, 5-7, 140 – 2.55 GPA), Simon Moen (OL/DL, 6-0, 205 – 2.67 GPA, 28 ACT) and versatile lineman Jacob Moore (OL/DL, 5-10, 183 – 2.78 GPA, 18 ACT).
In addition, the Falcons will have Kobe Pinson (OL/DL), Michael Rodriguez (WR/DB, 5-5, 135 – 3.03 GPA, 21 ACT), C.J. Wallace (WR/DB, 6-0, 180 – 3.05 GPA, 28 ACT) and Ben Wanicki (OL/DL, 6-2, 265 – 3.8 GPA, 22 ACT).
UNDERCLASSMEN ARE STILL LEARNING
The Falcons will certainly need several younger prospects to step up this coming season – including Class of 2023 (rising juniors) standouts Josh Armitage (FB/LB, 5-7, 150 – 3.2 GPA), Jaylen Bobbitt (WR/DB, 6-1, 160 – 2.87 GPA), Chris Bostick (WR/DB, 5-10, 150 – 2.5 GPA), Keaton Chapelle (WR/DB, 5-10, 135 – 2.71 GPA) and running back/linebacker Tellis Gamble (5-8, 150 – 2.5 GPA).
The Class of 2023 will also have Kaiden Gregoire (TE/LB, 6-1, 175 – 2.8 GPA), Samuel Haertle (WR/DB, 5-9, 155 – 2.8 GPA), Dakota Mann (OL/DL, 5-8, 220 – 3.57 GPA), Nicholas Thanasoulis (OL/DL, 5-6, 220 – 3.9 GPA) and Anthony Weston (FB/LB, 5-10, 250).
The Class of 2024 (rising sophomores) will also be a factor in 2021. Prospects like Chase Atchinson (TE/LB, 6-0, 185), Elijah Cintron (OL/DL), Lethan Gaddy (WR/DB, 5-8, 135), Leland Gregorie (RB/LB, 5-9, 145), Elias Hernandez (OL/DL, 5-6, 220) and Justin Ingram (WR/DB).
Also, keep an eye on Michael Jelks (WR/DB/QB, 5-9, 140), Michael Kane (WR/DB), Coby Lubke (WR/DB, 6-0, 145) and up-and-coming lineman Saul Martinez (OL/DL, 5-7, 216). Jelks recently had a stellar scrimmage at quarterback.
