Now that the Prep Redzone Class of 2022 rankings has been out for a while, it is time to look at the Central Texas players position by position, and see just why these players were amongst the highest-ranked in the state, starting with the quarterbacks.
1. [player_tooltip player_id="60713" first="Cade" last="Klubnik"] - Westlake High School (Austin, TX)
Klubnik has appeared multiple times throughout Prep Redzone and for good reason. As a junior, the Clemson commit led Westlake to yet another state championship Klubnik is highly ranked throughout multiple sites as well and was rewarded Texas District 26-6A Offensive MVP and Texas Sports Writers Association Class 6A Offensive Player of the Year. Last season, Klubnik threw for 3,495 passing yards, 35 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for 583 yards and 15 touchdowns. In total, he accounted for 90 points last season. Although he is committed to Clemson, he also received offers from the likes of Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Penn State and Texas.
2. [player_tooltip player_id="117920" first="Richard" last="Torres"] - Southside High School (San Antonio, TX)
Torres has also appeared throughout Prep Redzone as well. He is currently uncommitted but has received offers from Kansas State, Nebraska, San Diego State, Tulsa and more. He was named the Texas District 14-5A-I Offensive MVP last season and also helped lead his team to the postseason, although they were only able to make it to the second round. In his tape, Torres displays patience and focus despite growing pressure from the defense. He also displays the ability to shave off said pressure with athleticism while being able to keep his eyes down the field to make the throw. Torres has a couple of visits to Kansas and Nebraska coming up in June, according to Rivals.
3. [player_tooltip player_id="127947" first="Britton" last="Moore"] - Reagan High School (San Antonio, TX)
Another quarterback out of San Antonio, Moore has already set himself up for a great senior season with two colleges, Army and Navy, having already offered him. Much like Torres, Moore has the agility and a rocket of an arm. On top of this, he is also nearly impossible to tackle able to slip through the arms of linebackers and defensive backs. Considering he is displaying these feats, the experience he has gained for his senior season should only make him a tougher player to play against.
4. [player_tooltip player_id="125224" first="Diego" last="Narezo"] - Cornerstone Christian High School (San Antonio, TX)
Narezo has also displayed that he has a laser arm as well. On top of his abilities, he also helped Cornerstone Christian to a 10-1 overall record with the only loss coming to 40-28. Just like all the other quarterbacks, Narezo enters his senior season with a lot of potential and the opportunity to showcase his skills to those colleges looking for their next star.
5. [player_tooltip player_id="127941" first="Darson" last="Herman"] - Georgetown High School (Georgetown, TX)
Last to look at, but certainly not the least is Herman from Georgetown. He has received one offer from Columbia but has a few other schools that might send offers in the future such as Colorado State, Tulane and UTSA. When fans look at Herman, they might not think that he can run, but he is much like a raging bull when he runs down the field. On top of this, he has great accuracy and has the ability to lead the receivers to the perfect spot to make the catch or big yardage or a score.
