Both sides are loaded with talent across multiple classes and on both sides of the ball. The talent on both sides range from some players already signed to play Power Five college ball to others with FCS, D-II and D-III abilities. Below, we will break down the film of some of the top players that will be playing in this rivalry game.
RB Devon Rivers-Heritage HS
A smaller and compact runner, Rivers has exploded on the scene this Spring season as only a Sophomore. He is one of the top backs in Norcal regardless of class and has already had a 400+ yard rushing performance in week 1. He is an explosive back that runs through contact with strong balance and good body control while able to navigate through traffic and displays strong lateral movement/short area quickness abilities in tight windows.
QB Asher Haynes-Heritage HS
Haynes is a Pro-Style quarterback that is a high IQ player with a strong build and good pocket presence. Able to push the ball vertical and seemingly comfortable throwing both outbreaking and in-breaking routes, he has nice touch on deep throws and does not force what isn’t there. A very high quality quarterback, he has the abilities to make an impact at the next level.
WR/DB Jaden Price-Heritage HS
Price is an explosive receiver that is a big time playmaker with the ball in his hands. An All League BVAL performer as a Junior and working primarily from the slot, Price has a very explosive first step and does a good job at settling into zone coverages and gaining YAC while utilizing his top end speed and the ability to make defenders miss in the open field. Also having strong hands ball tracking abilities, he has FCS level talent at the next level.
RB/CB Hanai Muhammad-Heritage HS
Muhammad can play multiple different positions on both sides of the ball. He is an explosive player that can play both in the backfield and in the slot. Displaying a strong initial burst and able to catch the ball from various different angles, he is also a strong cover corner with natural instincts and good ball skills and physical enough to play press man on bigger receivers.
OT/DE Vicente Hughes-Heritage HS
Having ideal size for the next level, Hughes is a physical presence on both sides of the line and wins with strength and punch at the point of attack. Athletic enough to play tackle, he is patient in pass-pro and keeps a good base throughout his progression. Still a developing player, he will continue to develop into a next level caliber prospect.
LB Cameron Wright-Antioch HS
Wright is a very athletic linebacker that is fluid in space and brings a good thump at the point of contact. Taking good angles to ball carriers and able to play in a phone booth and in space, he does a good job at using his hands to shock blockers and can make plays outside the tackles using his speed and COD abilities. Wright has next level abilities at-least at the D-II level and will be a big impact player in this game.
TE/DE Jailen Weaver Jailen Weaver 6'7" | 280 lbs | DL Antioch | 2021 State CA -Antioch HS
Weaver is a dominant force on the edge and has already inked to Indiana University to play Power Five football. Still a raw prospect, he has a high ceiling at the next level and plays with good strength at the point of attack and moves extremely well for his size. Having a rare combination of overall size, length and speed, he is a rare prospect that is athletic and twitchy enough to rush the passer and can anchor and hand-set against the run.
QB/LB Rocco Borelli-Antioch HS
Borelli is the Panthers signal caller and has performed well this season while showing good touch/velocity on deep balls and is very smart in the pocket while showing good pocket presence and awareness. On defense, he is a physical downhill linebacker that is an anchor in the box and triggers in a hurry.
WR/SS Jaiden Davis-Antioch HS
Davis is an athletic prospect that mostly plays strong safety but can drop in the box and plays with good physicality and toughness. On offense, he can make difficult catches while displaying enough speed to separate on intermediate routes and haul in contested catches.
